Svea - 3/4/2019

Svea ate a LOT of bran cereal and a few raisins for breakfast.  She is such a good breakfast eater here at Daycare!  I'll list what was on her tray for lunch, but honestly I'm not sure how much she ate.  I do know she at least tasted several things!!  Her tray looked like a crime scene and it would take a professional detective to accurately record the results.  Ok, that's a bit of an overstatement, but I'm having fun amusing myself!!  Here it is: Chicken, whole wheat pita bread, cucumber, peppers, avocado, and pears.

Svea's play has been changing a lot the past few weeks.  I guess I would call it something like "experimentation with intention!"  Here are a couple examples; "I can fill this bucket with toys...dump it out...and do it again."  "I can stick my face in the yellow shape bucket and make sounds that echo.."  She's also trying to fit big blocks together, put lids on buckets, and on and on.  I never get bored watching the kids explore their world and start making sense of it!!

Here are some pictures from Svea's morning;  In the first picture Svea and Linnea were trying to put different shapes in the holes.  They will occasionally get one it, especially if it's the circle, but they know what's suppose to happen!!  The middle picture makes me laugh.  Svea looks like she's been caught with her hand in the cookie jar!  "Linnea was under there; not me!!!"  Haha!  Actually the kids play under there a lot.  Last picture: Svea has a bowl, a spoon, and a shape and she was stirring it around...very intentionally doing something.  This much I do know; she was working hard at it!

Svea ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and three servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of her ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, no peas, and ate bites of applesauce. First picture: Svea is just getting started on coloring this picture, but she was actually too busy watching Nora color and studying Nora's picture. Then, just as I was taking the picture, Svea's marker rolled off the table and Svea managed to catch it before it hit the floor. She's explaining to Nora how such an amazing feat is even possible!! Haha! Nice catch Svea. Next picture: The girls are watching a "Chicken Dance" video and dancing/singing along with it. The boys, meanwhile, are marching to their own drum and Miles is chanting, "I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew!!" Svea - 5/18/2020

Svea ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, no whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomato, avocado, and three or four cherries.  At breakfast Svea started saying, "My turn to talk. My turn to talk."  Which is what the big girls say at the table; all talking and saying it at the same time. Ha.  At lunch I put mustard on my ground turkey and I told Avi you can't be a wuss and eat mustard.  Svea said, "That's right Gary."  Haha. Here's what Svea frequently says to Lauralea: "Can you swing me Lauralea?!?"  Or, "Swing me Lauralea, swing me!?!"  And here's what she's asking: Swing me back and forth and throw me on the mattress.  :) Today was toy exchange Monday and Svea was very busy all morning.  I think these pictures kind of capture some of her morning and her busyness.  Playing with the jingle bells, food toys, and in the third picture she's trying to put the cab of the legos truck on ...

Svea - 5/19/2020

Svea ate just a couple bites of breakfast: waffle and grapes.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat tortilla, two servings of corn, and ate baked cinnamon apples. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  I took this picture because I like to catch Svea actually putting the puzzles together.  Good work Svea.  Second picture: More of the same this morning; playing with her babies. Next picture: Nora spends LOTS of time everyday dancing in front of the mirror.  During the time she went to her Preschool I never saw anyone continue this activity.  Well now she's back and here she is again.  Haha.  (Nora Boyle was the last one I remember doing this too!!  It's a "Nora thing.") Today Svea joined them as well.  So cute. Next picture: Svea was at the gate yelling to Avi and Atley (who were in the Preschool Room) and she was saying, "Look at me guys, look at me guys."  Then she started walking across the room...
