Svea - 12/10/2020

Svea ate half of whole wheat English muffin and ate two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce.  

This first picture was yesterday afternoon after snack.  Atley went to Nora for some loves and Svea joined right in.  It was so cute.  (I saw what precipitated this moment and Atley greatly exaggerated the incident with Avi, but this was the lovely outcome.  Haha.)  Second picture from this morning.  More loves and comforting each other.  It looks very similar to yesterday and I love how Svea joins them.  

Next picture;  Quiet relaxed time in the library.  Ha.  Not quite.  Lots of hoarding and guarding books going on; especially Cal and Svea.  :)  Svea said, "Hey Gary, look Humpty's head is broken."  Yes it sure is.  Do you know why?  (Young children struggle trying to answer "why" questions.)  She immediately nailed it;  "Because he fell off the wall."  Good job Svea.  

So the highlight of Thursday mornings is "Science with Lauralea."  The first experiment was Preschool introduction to electricity.  :)  I love it.  Power source is the 9-volt battery, conductor is the wire carrying the power to the lights.  We used 2 mini lights and Lauralea gave each of the 3 big girls those items and asked if they could make the lights come on.  Essentially no instructions and Avi figured it out in less than a minute.  And the others followed her lead.  Lauralea helped Svea be successful as you can see below.

First picture: Svea is just getting started on coloring this picture, but she was actually too busy watching Nora color and studying Nora's picture. Then, just as I was taking the picture, Svea's marker rolled off the table and Svea managed to catch it before it hit the floor. She's explaining to Nora how such an amazing feat is even possible!! Haha! Nice catch Svea. Next picture: The girls are watching a "Chicken Dance" video and dancing/singing along with it. The boys, meanwhile, are marching to their own drum and Miles is chanting, "I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew!!" Svea - 5/18/2020

Svea ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, no whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomato, avocado, and three or four cherries.  At breakfast Svea started saying, "My turn to talk. My turn to talk."  Which is what the big girls say at the table; all talking and saying it at the same time. Ha.  At lunch I put mustard on my ground turkey and I told Avi you can't be a wuss and eat mustard.  Svea said, "That's right Gary."  Haha. Here's what Svea frequently says to Lauralea: "Can you swing me Lauralea?!?"  Or, "Swing me Lauralea, swing me!?!"  And here's what she's asking: Swing me back and forth and throw me on the mattress.  :) Today was toy exchange Monday and Svea was very busy all morning.  I think these pictures kind of capture some of her morning and her busyness.  Playing with the jingle bells, food toys, and in the third picture she's trying to put the cab of the legos truck on ...

Svea - 5/19/2020

Svea ate just a couple bites of breakfast: waffle and grapes.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat tortilla, two servings of corn, and ate baked cinnamon apples. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  I took this picture because I like to catch Svea actually putting the puzzles together.  Good work Svea.  Second picture: More of the same this morning; playing with her babies. Next picture: Nora spends LOTS of time everyday dancing in front of the mirror.  During the time she went to her Preschool I never saw anyone continue this activity.  Well now she's back and here she is again.  Haha.  (Nora Boyle was the last one I remember doing this too!!  It's a "Nora thing.") Today Svea joined them as well.  So cute.
