Svea - 12/17/2020

Svea ate bites of blueberry bagel and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate some hamburger & sausage pizza with the meats, peppers, olives, pineapple, and tomato sauce.  We serve the whole wheat pizza crust on the side: she no to that, and no to pineapple on the side too.   

First picture:  These three were at the window waiting for Lauralea to drive by and then Svea started singing, "She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes...."  Haha.  I love how it triggered that song.  Perfect!!  I tried to get a video of it, but I was having too much fun just listening before I thought of a video.  She was singing another song and I recorded it and here's the link if you're interested:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfsEk8y7XOw   Following picture:  We'd built a block structure and Svea was "hiding" from me taking her picture.  

"Science with Lauralea" has become quite the hit with the 4 oldest kids!!  That's all they talk about every Thursday morning before we begin.  Lauralea had to run get something before we started and Nora said, "Don't take too long!"  Haha.  Last picture:  We did 3 experiments this morning and the theme was "Chemical Reactions" with a Christmas theme.  The one below was "Peppermint Oobleck."  Basically just water and cornstarch and the crushed peppermint candy just for smell.  Water and Cornstarch together make a solid and a liquid both.  Crazy.  For example when it's sitting still in Svea's bowl it looks liquid, but I could hit it with my fist and NOT splatter.  Haha.  I think Lauralea and I were having as much fun as the kids with this one.

Svea ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and three servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of her ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, no peas, and ate bites of applesauce. First picture: Svea is just getting started on coloring this picture, but she was actually too busy watching Nora color and studying Nora's picture. Then, just as I was taking the picture, Svea's marker rolled off the table and Svea managed to catch it before it hit the floor. She's explaining to Nora how such an amazing feat is even possible!! Haha! Nice catch Svea. Next picture: The girls are watching a "Chicken Dance" video and dancing/singing along with it. The boys, meanwhile, are marching to their own drum and Miles is chanting, "I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew!!" Svea - 5/18/2020

Svea ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, no whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomato, avocado, and three or four cherries.  At breakfast Svea started saying, "My turn to talk. My turn to talk."  Which is what the big girls say at the table; all talking and saying it at the same time. Ha.  At lunch I put mustard on my ground turkey and I told Avi you can't be a wuss and eat mustard.  Svea said, "That's right Gary."  Haha. Here's what Svea frequently says to Lauralea: "Can you swing me Lauralea?!?"  Or, "Swing me Lauralea, swing me!?!"  And here's what she's asking: Swing me back and forth and throw me on the mattress.  :) Today was toy exchange Monday and Svea was very busy all morning.  I think these pictures kind of capture some of her morning and her busyness.  Playing with the jingle bells, food toys, and in the third picture she's trying to put the cab of the legos truck on ...

Svea - 5/19/2020

Svea ate just a couple bites of breakfast: waffle and grapes.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat tortilla, two servings of corn, and ate baked cinnamon apples. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  I took this picture because I like to catch Svea actually putting the puzzles together.  Good work Svea.  Second picture: More of the same this morning; playing with her babies. Next picture: Nora spends LOTS of time everyday dancing in front of the mirror.  During the time she went to her Preschool I never saw anyone continue this activity.  Well now she's back and here she is again.  Haha.  (Nora Boyle was the last one I remember doing this too!!  It's a "Nora thing.") Today Svea joined them as well.  So cute.
