Svea - 01/14/2021

Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and ate two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, ate two servings of peas, and two servings of applesauce.  She asked for the peas to be covered with applesauce like Nora.  

Svea had just finished eating breakfast and called me from the Daycare Room; "Gary, my pants are falling down!"  Callahan was still in his highchair and started singing, "Falling Down, falling down, falling down."  Right on tune with "London Bridge is Falling Down."  Hahaha.  So awesome!!

Svea was singing "Jingle Bells" several times this morning.  The second stanza says, "The horse was lean and lank."  I like Svea's translation better!!  "The horse was ween and wank!!"  Haha.  

Adorable picture of the day!!  :)  This was shortly after Svea arrived and before Nora was squealing on Svea for not following some rules correctly.  

I just Posted Avi's Journal and talked about Science with Lauralea and the subject today was "Air."  In the first picture below Lauralea has put a paper towel plug in the opening of the plastic bottle.  However, before this she'd squeezed the bottle and when she released the pressure the air sucked the plug into the bottle.  Last picture;  A great visual showing the kids how warm air expands.  Lauralea had a balloon stretched over the bottle opening.  When the bottle was placed in the previously boiling water the air warmed up and started to expand and push air into the balloon.  Too bad we can't see Avi and Svea's expression, but look at Nora and Atley.  Love it.  Svea started clapping her hands.

For lunch she ate half of her ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, no peas, and ate bites of applesauce. First picture: Svea is just getting started on coloring this picture, but she was actually too busy watching Nora color and studying Nora's picture. Then, just as I was taking the picture, Svea's marker rolled off the table and Svea managed to catch it before it hit the floor. She's explaining to Nora how such an amazing feat is even possible!! Haha! Nice catch Svea. Next picture: The girls are watching a "Chicken Dance" video and dancing/singing along with it. The boys, meanwhile, are marching to their own drum and Miles is chanting, "I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew!!" Svea - 5/18/2020

Svea ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, no whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomato, avocado, and three or four cherries.  At breakfast Svea started saying, "My turn to talk. My turn to talk."  Which is what the big girls say at the table; all talking and saying it at the same time. Ha.  At lunch I put mustard on my ground turkey and I told Avi you can't be a wuss and eat mustard.  Svea said, "That's right Gary."  Haha. Here's what Svea frequently says to Lauralea: "Can you swing me Lauralea?!?"  Or, "Swing me Lauralea, swing me!?!"  And here's what she's asking: Swing me back and forth and throw me on the mattress.  :) Today was toy exchange Monday and Svea was very busy all morning.  I think these pictures kind of capture some of her morning and her busyness.  Playing with the jingle bells, food toys, and in the third picture she's trying to put the cab of the legos truck on ...

Svea - 5/19/2020

Svea ate just a couple bites of breakfast: waffle and grapes.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat tortilla, two servings of corn, and ate baked cinnamon apples. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  I took this picture because I like to catch Svea actually putting the puzzles together.  Good work Svea.  Second picture: More of the same this morning; playing with her babies. Next picture: Nora spends LOTS of time everyday dancing in front of the mirror.  During the time she went to her Preschool I never saw anyone continue this activity.  Well now she's back and here she is again.  Haha.  (Nora Boyle was the last one I remember doing this too!!  It's a "Nora thing.") Today Svea joined them as well.  So cute.
