Svea - 02/11/2021

Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she had bites of ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce.  

First two pictures; This is literally what Svea did ALL morning when it wasn't "Science with Lauralea." It will be interesting to see how long before the newness of the Doll Houses wears off!! Svea is SO thrilled to spend time in the Preschool Room and she's been listening very well. :) She knows she has to listen to me to spend time in the Preschool Room. Good job Svea. I'm super proud of you! She's at the "front door" of the Doll House in the second picture. Ha.

Next picture: Today was "Science with Lauralea" for the Preschool kids. We've been doing a "weather" theme lately and today was specifically "freezing." (Miles and Cal got to watch this one.) Perfect weather for this experiment; throw some hot water in the air. We asked the kids first; "Do you think Lauralea can make it snow?!?" Yup, they all think she can work magic; except for Atley. "Noooo!" But Lauralea did it and here's a picture to prove it. Frozen water particles everywhere!

Last picture: This is more of an Art Project, but there is "freezing" involved!! The kids had a choice: Make an "ice castle" or make an "ornament." All "ice castles," except for Nora did an "ornament." And now they are in the freezer and will probably go home with the kids tomorrow. The kids threaded beads on two pipe cleaners and shaped those when they were done. Svea is really quite adept with her small motor skills. She is so independent and never wants help doing things like this. AND she pretty much beaded just as many as the older kids!!

For lunch she ate half of her ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, no peas, and ate bites of applesauce. First picture: Svea is just getting started on coloring this picture, but she was actually too busy watching Nora color and studying Nora's picture. Then, just as I was taking the picture, Svea's marker rolled off the table and Svea managed to catch it before it hit the floor. She's explaining to Nora how such an amazing feat is even possible!! Haha! Nice catch Svea. Next picture: The girls are watching a "Chicken Dance" video and dancing/singing along with it. The boys, meanwhile, are marching to their own drum and Miles is chanting, "I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew!!" Svea - 5/18/2020

Svea ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, no whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomato, avocado, and three or four cherries.  At breakfast Svea started saying, "My turn to talk. My turn to talk."  Which is what the big girls say at the table; all talking and saying it at the same time. Ha.  At lunch I put mustard on my ground turkey and I told Avi you can't be a wuss and eat mustard.  Svea said, "That's right Gary."  Haha. Here's what Svea frequently says to Lauralea: "Can you swing me Lauralea?!?"  Or, "Swing me Lauralea, swing me!?!"  And here's what she's asking: Swing me back and forth and throw me on the mattress.  :) Today was toy exchange Monday and Svea was very busy all morning.  I think these pictures kind of capture some of her morning and her busyness.  Playing with the jingle bells, food toys, and in the third picture she's trying to put the cab of the legos truck on ...

Svea - 5/19/2020

Svea ate just a couple bites of breakfast: waffle and grapes.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat tortilla, two servings of corn, and ate baked cinnamon apples. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  I took this picture because I like to catch Svea actually putting the puzzles together.  Good work Svea.  Second picture: More of the same this morning; playing with her babies. Next picture: Nora spends LOTS of time everyday dancing in front of the mirror.  During the time she went to her Preschool I never saw anyone continue this activity.  Well now she's back and here she is again.  Haha.  (Nora Boyle was the last one I remember doing this too!!  It's a "Nora thing.") Today Svea joined them as well.  So cute.
