Svea's Journal

Svea ate whole wheat toast and two servings of mangoes for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat noodles, ate cauliflower, and ate fruit salad.  The ring tone on my phone - not text - is chimes and I think that reminded Svea of the Carousel. She said, "Hey Alexa, play the Carousel!" No response from Alexa. "Alexa!! Play the Carousel." No response. Svea is getting irritated. "Alexa! Play the Carousel!!" No response. "ALEXA!! You're making me frustrated!!" I actually managed not to fall over laughing. So stinking cute. I was impressed she was expressing her feelings. Good job Svea. Svea ate bites of bran cereal and no raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, no whole wheat pita bread, ate avocado, cucumbers, and ate pears.   First two pictures: Hanging out with her buddy Callahan. There are some combs in this toy exchange and Svea was combing her own hair and then switching to combing Cal's hair. And he was obviously just fine having her do that. Following picture: Svea was resting on the couch and Cal gave her a kiss good night. :) Miles watched that and then he climbed up on the couch, but she wasn't happy when he was crawling on her. I'm not sure where he thought he was headed! Next picture; Nora and Svea were waiting in the Preschool area (in Lauralea's chair) for someone (either Avi or Atley) to hide the Easter eggs. Svea ate no cream of wheat cereal and ate her dried plums for breakfast. For lunch she ate turkey burger, bites of whole wheat tortillas, one bite of sweet potatoes, and ate cherries.    First picture; Svea sitting during Science Time with Lauralea. This was one of the experiments which you can read about in Avi's Blog. Sometimes the experiments require a bit of waiting and watching. Ha. Avi was expressing her displeasure with the waiting this morning. Svea ate half of her waffles and ate two servings of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate whole 30 chili with meat, peppers, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and tomato sauce. She ate her whole wheat dinner roll and her tropical fruit.    You know from reading Avi's Blog that we've been learning the Spanish words for different colors. We've used Alexa some of the time, but as you'll read in Avi's Blog we're doing it different. Anyhow, yesterday afternoon I heard Svea randomly say, "Alexa, what's the Spanish word for white?" :)   First picture: Svea made a grand entrance with her pretty dress today and it was so dang cute. Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and most of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she had no pork roast, half of whole wheat toast, ate beets, and ate applesauce.   Svea was talking to Callahan and said, "Hey! Did you steal that blanket?!?" (He really didn't have a clue what she was talking about.) He said, "No." Svea said, "Well where is it?!?!" So Callahan just randomly pointed to one of several doll blankets laying on the floor and that totally satisfied her. Haha. First picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when one of our neighbors stopped by with one of her puppies. The kids love this little puppy, but the puppy is super cautious and doesn't want to get to close. Atley said, "I wish I had a dog like that." Svea ate half of corn chex cereal and half of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, no toasted whole wheat sandwich thins, ate tomato, avocado, and mandarin oranges.   I have a note leftover from Friday afternoon. It was raining and Avi wanted to play with "rain toys" on the patio. Ok, but we have to stay on the patio while it rains. Svea, will you stay on the patio ?!? Svea said, "Yes. Where's the patio!?!" Svea ate oatmeal and no dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate no tilapia, no whole wheat elbow noodles, no green beans, and ate applesauce. She really didn't want to even come to the lunch table because she was prepping to poop behind the Doll House. :) Yesterday afternoon when we were outside Svea said, "Bye, I'm gonna go get THE shot!" That can only mean one thing!! Ha. The Covid Shot!? Svea said, "Yup." Haha. Daycare Dramatic play during a Pandemic! Moments later she said, "I'm back Gary. I got the Covid shot!" Haha. That was so funny!  Svea told Lauralea "Happy Birthday." Then she asked, "What's you frosting gonna be?" Lauralea said, "Tilapia." Svea said,"I love tilapia; it makes cookies." Haha. Svea ate blueberry bagel and two servings of peaches for breakfast. For lunch she ate hamburger & sausage pizza with meat, peppers, pineapple, olives, and tomato sauce. She had no whole wheat pizza crust on the side and ate pineapple on the side.   First picture: This picture may look familiar. Haha. Like yesterday. Nora and Svea were back in the same spot checking out the neighbor's empty (Svea's perspective) playground. Even though there is only ONE piece of equipment over there, it still looks SO enticing! Ha.  It's always interesting to me how the kids will cycle through toys that are out and accessible all the time; obviously different than toys in the toy exchange. For example, many days can go by and the kids will not even open the legos drawer. Then one day (today) they will spend a majority of the morning working on various legos activities. For lunch she ate pork roast (only because she had too if she wanted extra fruit salad), no whole wheat tortillas, ate carrots, and three large servings of fruit salad. (Just a strawberry/mango mix.)  The first three pictures are left over from yesterday afternoon. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is for us to be going outside again! Marvelous. They asked me lay out the two tunnels and by the time I took this picture it was only Svea and Nora left in there. Svea ate cheerios and no banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, bite of whole wheat pita bread, ate avocado, half of tomato, and ate fruit cocktail.  The land line was ringing this morning and Svea said, "Hey Gary! Your phone is calling." Haha. She frequently does really cute "wording" in her sentences.  First picture: Svea was talking steady and intently to Miles about the phones, but I have NO idea what it was about. Although when he laid the phones on the shelf when he was done, he didn't do it quite right and she had to fix them. Ha.
