Svea - 03/01/2021

Svea ate bran cereal and half of raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of chicken, no whole wheat pita bread, ate most of avocado, ate cucumbers, and pears. At breakfast Svea said, "Hey Nora, do you want to talk about Aladdin again!?" And before Nora had a chance to answer Svea was yakking about Aladdin! Ha. 

First two pictures: Well we have raw eggs left over from Science on Thursday and they've been soaking in vinegar all weekend. This morning we rubbed the skin off - the shell felt more like skin. And you can see what is left. The outside feels rubbery, but the inside is still runny. It's translucent and you can see the yolk moving around. I used the flashlight and that really makes the yolk visible! So later today we're gonna see if they bounce. Ha. One more note if you've read this far!! Ha! Science with Lauralea this week will be on FRIDAY!!

Next picture: Svea was trying to coax Cal into dancing with her. Well more like demanding; "Cal! Dance with me! Dance with me Cal!!" He actually had been dancing, but just not the way she wanted him to. He was jiving and spinning and she wanted him to hang on to her. Ha. Believe me, when they dance SHE leads!!  Ha. She finally jsut stomped off saying, "FINE!"

Last two pictures; Svea and Miles were working with the little wooden blocks. The stack got knocked over two or three times, but she didn't get angry or exasperated at him. (See the different positioning of the stack in the two pictures.) The blocks were in the shelf in front of Miles and she'd put a block on the stack and say, "Ok, get me another one." And he'd get another one.

Svea ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and three servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of her ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, no peas, and ate bites of applesauce. First picture: Svea is just getting started on coloring this picture, but she was actually too busy watching Nora color and studying Nora's picture. Then, just as I was taking the picture, Svea's marker rolled off the table and Svea managed to catch it before it hit the floor. She's explaining to Nora how such an amazing feat is even possible!! Haha! Nice catch Svea. Next picture: The girls are watching a "Chicken Dance" video and dancing/singing along with it. The boys, meanwhile, are marching to their own drum and Miles is chanting, "I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew!!" Svea - 5/18/2020

Svea ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, no whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomato, avocado, and three or four cherries.  At breakfast Svea started saying, "My turn to talk. My turn to talk."  Which is what the big girls say at the table; all talking and saying it at the same time. Ha.  At lunch I put mustard on my ground turkey and I told Avi you can't be a wuss and eat mustard.  Svea said, "That's right Gary."  Haha. Here's what Svea frequently says to Lauralea: "Can you swing me Lauralea?!?"  Or, "Swing me Lauralea, swing me!?!"  And here's what she's asking: Swing me back and forth and throw me on the mattress.  :) Today was toy exchange Monday and Svea was very busy all morning.  I think these pictures kind of capture some of her morning and her busyness.  Playing with the jingle bells, food toys, and in the third picture she's trying to put the cab of the legos truck on ...

Svea - 5/19/2020

Svea ate just a couple bites of breakfast: waffle and grapes.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat tortilla, two servings of corn, and ate baked cinnamon apples. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  I took this picture because I like to catch Svea actually putting the puzzles together.  Good work Svea.  Second picture: More of the same this morning; playing with her babies. Next picture: Nora spends LOTS of time everyday dancing in front of the mirror.  During the time she went to her Preschool I never saw anyone continue this activity.  Well now she's back and here she is again.  Haha.  (Nora Boyle was the last one I remember doing this too!!  It's a "Nora thing.") Today Svea joined them as well.  So cute.
