Svea - 07/29/2021

Svea ate French toast and no dried plums for Breakfast. For lunch she ate pulled pork, ate whole wheat toast, peas, and two servings of watermelon.  

This first picture was immediately after arrival. Svea said, "Hey Gary! Guess what I have under me?" Uhh, the floor!?! She looked at me like "what's wrong with you?" Haha. (The same look I get from all the kids.) She said, "Nooo, my swimsuit!!" 

Next two pictures: I have to tell you the story behind these two pictures. Avi is very interested in the fact that I'm color blind. For the last two weeks she's been coming to me every day with two markers and asking, "Which one is the darkest or lightest?" Which is interesting to me because most people start quizzing me with identifying the actual colors. Haha. Today Nora and Atley (and then Svea and Avi when they arrived) asked me for the little pieces of paper you see in the picture in 5 different colors. Nora saw me struggling a bit with the colors and she (obviously assuming it was a lack of early learning) said, "You need to learn to say them!" LOL! Ok, I will. Atley said, "It's because you have glasses."That's it! Glasses have led to a color deficiency! So in the following picture even Svea got in on the action and brought two markers to test me. Hahaha. I love it.

Next picture: Svea was having from with this drawing board tracing around her fingers. Then she started coloring all of her fingers. Last picture: This was SO SO cute and precious. Svea was obviously having a love surge for Sister Avi and she had a dreamy look on her face as she went over to give Avilene a big long love. Avi looked back lovingly at Svea for probably 20 seconds before continuing on with her Art.

Svea ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and three servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of her ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, no peas, and ate bites of applesauce. First picture: Svea is just getting started on coloring this picture, but she was actually too busy watching Nora color and studying Nora's picture. Then, just as I was taking the picture, Svea's marker rolled off the table and Svea managed to catch it before it hit the floor. She's explaining to Nora how such an amazing feat is even possible!! Haha! Nice catch Svea. Next picture: The girls are watching a "Chicken Dance" video and dancing/singing along with it. The boys, meanwhile, are marching to their own drum and Miles is chanting, "I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew! I fart, Pee Yew!!" Svea - 5/18/2020

Svea ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, no whole wheat hamburger bun, ate tomato, avocado, and three or four cherries.  At breakfast Svea started saying, "My turn to talk. My turn to talk."  Which is what the big girls say at the table; all talking and saying it at the same time. Ha.  At lunch I put mustard on my ground turkey and I told Avi you can't be a wuss and eat mustard.  Svea said, "That's right Gary."  Haha. Here's what Svea frequently says to Lauralea: "Can you swing me Lauralea?!?"  Or, "Swing me Lauralea, swing me!?!"  And here's what she's asking: Swing me back and forth and throw me on the mattress.  :) Today was toy exchange Monday and Svea was very busy all morning.  I think these pictures kind of capture some of her morning and her busyness.  Playing with the jingle bells, food toys, and in the third picture she's trying to put the cab of the legos truck on ...

Svea - 5/19/2020

Svea ate just a couple bites of breakfast: waffle and grapes.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat tortilla, two servings of corn, and ate baked cinnamon apples. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  I took this picture because I like to catch Svea actually putting the puzzles together.  Good work Svea.  Second picture: More of the same this morning; playing with her babies. Next picture: Nora spends LOTS of time everyday dancing in front of the mirror.  During the time she went to her Preschool I never saw anyone continue this activity.  Well now she's back and here she is again.  Haha.  (Nora Boyle was the last one I remember doing this too!!  It's a "Nora thing.") Today Svea joined them as well.  So cute.
