Svea - 1/31/2019

Image
Svea ate several bites of waffle and a taste of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of Shepard's Pie with meat, carrots, potatoes, and green beans.  No whole wheat tortillas, and no cherries. First picture - Linnea was looking at a book about babies and there is a picture of a baby on the front of it.  She was excited and trying to show it to Svea and kept saying, "Baby, Baby, Baby..."  Svea wasn't too interested, but Linnea didn't care and really didn't notice the lack of interest.  :) I've mentioned before - several months ago - about the State requiring all licensed programs, regardless of size, have several emergency plans in place.  It was a lot of work to get the required supplies and do the paperwork, but they also require a number of drills per year.  I'm sure glad Lauralea works from home one day a week!  So we did a "shelter in place" drill today.  We have the perfect room downstairs where we keep the required ...

Svea ate a good breakfast; French toast and strawberries.  A bottle about 10:45 and then just a couple bites at lunch of the "whole 30" chili all mashed together that I fed to her. These first two pictures are left over from yesterday afternoon.  First picture: Nora was giving Svea SO many loves yesterday afternoon; to the point that Svea was getting tired of it!  "Enough Already!!"  You can probably guess what happened when Nora put her head in Svea's lap!  Yup, Nora yelled; "Hey! Don't pull my hair!!"  I said, "Well hey, that's what babies do when you lay your beautiful hair in their lap!!" Second picture from yesterday; Svea was under the legos table and you can see her head poking out. She messed around under there for several minutes so I guess it's safe to say at this point in her life she doesn't mind tight places.  :)  This morning she crawled through from this side and came out on the other side. Atley wen...

Svea ate some whole wheat English muffin and grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she had a taste of pork chop meat, bites of whole wheat toast, no beets, bites of sweet potatoes, and bites of applesauce. First picture: Atley was being sweet to Svea and Linnea.  When she was done with the book she asked Svea if she wanted to "touch it."  The snow and snowflakes on the pages are "touch and feel." Atley also asked the little girls; "When I'm done do you wanna read it?!?"  :)  That was sweet Atley. Next picture - Svea has one of those legos flowers and she's trying to get it in the hole again.  Minutes before she'd watched Linnea do it, so she was giving it a go again!  Beside sister Avi in the cool headband.  :) Next picture: we'd made a "sidewalk" and Svea was testing it out.  She's watching Linnea who was on the other sidewalk.  Last picture - Svea was doing a "snowplow" with her forehead across the mattress an...

Svea had very few bites of Chex cereal and peaches for breakfast.  Again, very few bites of lunch: ground beef, whole wheat hamburger bun, tomatoes, avocado, and oranges.  She drank her milk fine (twice), so that was good. First picture: These two little cuties were having fun together.  When Svea first got here Linnea was patiently waiting for me to put Svea on the floor so they could say hi to each other!  In the picture they are showing each other a toy;  and focused on their own toy.  Moments after I took the picture Linnea bent over and grabbed the blanket Svea is standing on.  When she tugged on it Svea just calmly stepped off.  :)  No harm, no foul.  Second picture: Playing close to each other again. Next picture:  I like how Svea is studying the baby.  "Hi, my name is Svea!"  "What's your name?"  I'm pretty certain that's NOT what Svea is thinking, but it's fun to put adult comments on the pictures! ...

Svea ate oatmeal and a couple tastes of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tilapia, bites of whole wheat elbow noodles, bites of green beans, and ate applesauce.  (I mixed the tilapia with the applesauce and fed it to her.) First picture: Same thing posted in yesterday's blog.  Svea worked hard at this again for the longest time.  (No attention deficit problems here!!)  She's watches Linnea put these legos flowers in the little holes and she's trying hard to do the same! The next two pictures go together.  Svea was at the doorway of the box watching Linnea.  (You can see Linnea's ponytail - whale spout - sticking up just to the right of the doorway! Ha!)  Next picture; I was watching Svea play in the box and then she laid down on a pillow.  It was so cute, but it's a good thing I was ready because it lasted for about 4.6 seconds! Last two pictures: The common theme here - if there is room for one baby, then there ...

Svea did very well with both meals today.  Way to go Svea!  For breakfast she ate whole wheat bagel (toasted and buttered) and peaches.  For lunch she ate hamburger & sausage pizza, whole wheat pizza crust (cut into little pieces), with peppers, pineapple, olives, and tomato sauce.  She ate a few bites of pineapple on the side. Today it was Nora's turn to notice Svea walking.  :)  "She's walking Gary, she's walking!!"  Yup, sideways and cautiously!!  :)  Actually Svea was doing way more walking today than before; walking just about every time she was headed somewhere!  This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Svea has seen others put these "legos flowers" in the holes in the corners of the yellow bench (just in front of her hands) and she worked for a long time and tried to do it.  She never got it, but it wasn't for lack of trying!!  (Without getting frustrated.) Svea was totally "showing-off" for me in ...

Svea ate whole wheat toast and grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of pork chops (they were very soft - and delicious - from being marinated), bites of carrots, potatoes, and sweet potatoes (that I mashed together and fed her), and a couple bites of fruit salad. Svea had her usual good morning exploring and playing with lots of stuff.  Her poor nose ran steady, but she's still easy to care for and was in a good mood.  :)  First picture; She and Linnea were reading and looking at books at the yellow bench.  Notice the book rack is empty!  That's usually the first order of business.  Clear the book rack!!  Svea was grabbing Linnea's book and Linnea just let her have it and turned around to look at me.  That was very sweet of you Linnea. Next two pictures: Avi sprinted to the mattress to join Svea, but she was pretty patient waiting for the right opportunity to "pounce on her prey!!"  Second picture:  Yup, that didn't ...

Svea ate some whole wheat English muffin and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of chicken, bites of stir fry vegetables, and bites of oranges. Lots of pictures from this morning, but they tell a great story and it's also easier for me!!  (Which is so very important of course.)  :)  First picture; Svea was up on the legos table yesterday for the first time and there was no hesitation to do it again today.  I turned around and Linnea and Svea were both standing up!  Sit down; that's not safe!!  :)  In the 2nd picture I guess Atley thought Svea needed some blocks because she was piling them in front of Svea saying, "there you go, there you go!" Next two pictures: Sweet sister Avi playing with Svea.  Avi kept saying, "there she is!" every time Svea would take the doll blanket off her head and of course Svea was chuckling. Last two pictures; Svea was looking at me and then ducking down and being silly.  I like ...

Svea ate some cheerios and banana bites for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef mixed with avocado that I fed her.  She liked it and ate lots of it.  She also ate olives and I fed her strawberries. Svea scrambled all over the room this morning and had a great time.  I'm making that judgment from her activity level and happy sounds.  :)  First two pictures; Several times Svea was putting this bag/purse over her head and then taking it back off.  Which may not seem like a big deal, but some kids will get frustrated quickly and start yelling for help.  Svea just kept working at it until she go it off and then she'd put it back on again. I got on the mattress and took this next picture of Svea.  As soon as she saw me there she came over and crawled on top of me and deposited some drool!  :) Last two pictures: Ok you little monkey!!  She crawled up on the legos table and of course she then had to immediately stand up. ...

Svea ate several bites of whole wheat english muffin and tasted the oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of elbow noodles and peas, and I fed her some ground beef mixed with applesauce.  She did pretty well with it all this morning! This morning Atley yelled, "SVEA'S WALKING!!  SVEA'S WALKING!!"  So I guess that makes it official; Svea's walking!  :)  I obviously took this first picture when she wasn't walking!  She was just smiling at me looking sweet and adorable!!  I Love this precious little girl and she's a great kid!! This second picture is so stinking cute and the scenario was also very interesting!!  Svea was "practicing" walking and this is the first time I've seen her do it!  She was starting at the carpeted step in front of the gate behind her.  (To the right of her.)  She'd walk about to where she's at in the picture (about 10 - 12 steps) and then she'd crawl back to her starting point!  Isn't ...

Svea ate some french toast, a taste of strawberry, and a bottle of milk for breakfast.  For lunch she ate some banana and pumpkin and a bottle of milk before her nap. If Svea is nearby when I'm busy at the changing table, or basically anywhere else, pretty soon I feel someone tugging and hanging onto my pant leg.  Little cutie.  She'll grab on and pull herself to a standing position. And of course I can't help but pick her up for a love.  :)  Svea (and Avi) are both doing just fine with the Grandparents and with Gary this week!  Everything is pretty normal here at Daycare and that is always a good sign, so kudos to Grandma and Grandpa. Nora was the last one here this morning and they all lined up at the window to wave at Daddy Ryan!  Doesn't this picture make Svea look tiny!?!  Haha!  Makes me laugh.  (If Svea wasn't in the picture it would be Linnea looking pretty small!)  Tiny, but mighty!!  Second picture: She was playin...

Svea ate several bites of waffle and a few bites of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of chicken, several bites of corn, and several bites of baked cinnamon apple.  Today was the best she has done so far with eating "regular food" in her highchair at Daycare!  Good job Svea! Atley yelled, "Svea has a boogie Gary!!  Svea has a boogie!!"  Then she started to stick her finger in Svea's nose to chase the boogie!!  Stop Atley!  I'll get it!!  Just telling me about it is plenty of help!! Thank you Atley for telling me!!  :)  Actually Svea had a big boogie in each nostril and I'm sure it felt better when I was done even if she did yell at me!!  :) Here are some pictures from Svea's morning.  This first picture is a very regular occurrence for her!! When she wants to explore another toy she just pops one toy in her mouth!  Ha!  She's already multi-tasking and being more efficient!!  :) I thin...

Svea had a couple bites of kix cereal and no mixed fruit for breakfast.  So I also fed her some pears/apple/ banana.  For lunch she ate bites of ground turkey and bites of avocado.  And she had two bottles this morning. This first picture is left over from Friday afternoon.  She obviously needed a fresh set of clothes!  :)  You little cutie Svea!  Thank you for waving at me so I could get an adorable picture!! First picture: Monday morning back at Daycare!  "I think I'll walk over here and play with that toy!!" Nice job Svea!  She sat down and played with one of the pop-up toys you see and she was pushing the pop-up part down, but she had a finger in the road and she was "stuck" and mad and yelling.  I wish I knew how many times I've seen this age group "trap" themselves.  The majority of the time it's in the pages of a book.  "Just pull your hand out!" More pictures; I like the next two pictures and they basically go...
