Svea - 4/30/2019

Svea ate whole wheat bagel and grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a couple bites of shrimp, ate brown rice, couple bites of stir fry vegetables, and ate raspberries. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Svea was feeding Avi with a spoon.  (If you look close, it's a "serving" spoon!  Haha)  Avi was totally going with it and Svea would pretend to go get more food and she was laughing hard every time! I searched all over for Callahan's binky and couldn't find it.  So I just used one of my many spare I keep on hand!  15 minutes later Svea was walking around with a silly grin on her face chewing on Callahan's binky!!  Haha!  That was cute. First picture from this morning.  Svea worked hard at getting these boots on.  At first she was trying to put them on backwards, and even tried walking with them on backwards.  But she kept at it and here's a picture of her success all by herself!!  Nice job ...

Svea ate bran cereal and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pears.  I didn't see her touch anything else: Chicken, whole wheat pita bread, peppers, or cucumbers. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and as always it was a busy morning!!  I love this first picture: Avi remembered these "cheese slices" and "bologna slices" would stick to the window!! It's been a LONG time since we did that!  Who needs window clings when you have food toys!?!  So Svea was trying to stick "lettuce" up there, but it's from a different recipe, and has texture that isn't smooth!  Haha! Next picture: Avi was sharing some food toys - bread and sandwich goodies - with sister Svea.  Svea didn't even know what Avilene had in her hand, but she DID know that she wanted some of it!  Avi, you are very sweet and very kind to your sister.  I'm impressed. Next picture:  Svea worked hard two or three times to get a boot on; and she was ...

Svea ate whole grain cream of wheat cereal and no banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of her baked beef kabobs with meat, zucchini, pineapple, and peppers.  She ate whole wheat bagel and ate pineapple on the side.  Svea was whipping her head side to side like she frequently does when being offered some food she thinks she doesn't want.  So I quickly slipped a bite of pineapple through her defenses (ha) and she ate it, got a cute look on her face, and proceeded to eat ALL of a large serving of pineapple.  Sometimes if they can just get a taste on their lips that's all it takes! First two pictures are from yesterday afternoon.  Svea wanted to join the other kids doing sidewalk chalk, so I let her try.  She would just randomly drop the chalk wherever and then come for another piece.  (You can see her piece of chalk laying close to her feet!)  Then it frequently ended up in her mouth as well!  So we'll wait awhile and try again...

Svea ate waffle and fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shepherd's pie with meat, green beans, carrots, and potatoes.  She sniffed the whole wheat tortillas and ate cherries. First picture: All five kids were at the window again waving at Daddy Andy.  Linnea was doing the same thing as yesterday; waving with one hand and touching Svea's head with the other hand!  Ha!  I took this first picture after the other kids were off playing, but these two were still at the window with Linnea touching Svea's head!!  Svea is ok with it - sometimes I don't think she even notices!!  :) Next two pictures: First picture playing with her baby.  Following picture playing with some cars. Showing her nurturing and affectionate side, followed by the need for an adrenaline rush to fly off the ramps!!  She's just a well balanced baby!!  :) Last picture: All five girls on the mattress and I managed to get them all in the picture as well!! ...

Svea ate two servings of French toast and ate strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate whole 30 chili with sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and peppers.  She sniffed the whole wheat dinner roll, and ate tropical fruit.  At lunch I was feeding Svea her chili and I blew on it several times which she giggled about and then she was blowing on her dinner roll.  :) I'll talk about the first two pictures together.  Svea makes me nervous when she's on the blue balance beam like this!!  She loves being up there and walking back-n-forth!  Look how Avi is prepared to "catch" her.  Svea slipped off that side and Avi did sort of catch her; at least stopped the fall.  Of course Avi just about choked Svea down while dragging Svea back onto the mattress!!  Haha!  Second picture: She'd just fallen off the beam (again) and immediately scrambled back onto it when I took this picture.  She landed on her back, but the fall didn't see...

Svea ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of everything.  I think.  Maybe.  She had it spread around pretty good.  Pork chop, whole wheat toast, beets, sweet potatoes, and applesauce. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon and she could reach the bunny ears while I was changing her diaper.  Did this herself.  Next picture; this morning with bunny ears again in a different arrangement and a hat on top to finish the look!  Looking awesome Svea!!  :) This next picture is also from yesterday afternoon.  How cute is this?  Svea pushing Avilene in the stroller.  She's a tough little critter and can easily push this down the sidewalk, but keeping the stroller on the road is the biggest challenge.  :) Next picture: Avi hooked five "legos windows" together and said, "This is for Svea!!"  And handed it to Svea.  Well you know what happ...

Svea ate whole wheat Chex cereal and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a couple bites of ground beef with avocado, no whole wheat hamburger bun, bites of tomato, and ate oranges. Atley was wanting to play hide-n-seek this morning and she apparently wanted Svea to join her.  Atley said, "I want to find Svea!  Hide in the igloo Svea!"  Haha! I had to run to the Court House first thing this morning and Lauralea took this first picture of Svea eating some cereal.  (She'd already eaten her peaches.)  Do you give her a spoon at home?  I've started giving her one here and I see from the picture that Lauralea did as well.    Speaking of Lauralea, Svea was so cute when Lauralea was leaving this morning.  Svea didn't wait for Lauralea to ask about goodbye hugs.  She saw Lauralea was preparing to leave and went over and started hugging Lauralea's leg; the morning ritual.  It was SO cute. Next picture: Svea saw Nora spreadi...

Svea ate oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of tilapia, ate whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and applesauce. This first note is from yesterday as we were getting ready to go outside.  Svea saw me with her shoes and socks and she whirled around and sprinted for the step, plopped down and stuck out her foot for me to get to work!  So cute!  She LOVES going outside and she wasn't wasting any time getting ready!! Most of the pictures today are left over from yesterday afternoon too.  I walked around the changing table and here was Svea reading some books in a new reading spot!  :)  I like your choice Svea!  You can't see it in this picture, but she had two or three books tucked under her legs too. Next picture: Here's the little wild child getting ready to head down the slide!  Ha!  She'd spotted Emily coming to pick up Nora and that's what she's focused on in the picture.  Following pict...

Svea ate whole wheat bagel and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate three or four bites of hamburger and sausage pizza with whole wheat pizza crust, tomato sauce, olives, pineapple, and peppers.  She ate a large serving of pineapple on the side too.  So this first picture I took at breakfast time.  I was putting the peaches on a little fork and handing it to her and she was loving that.  The first one I stabbed with the fork and handed to her, she got all excited, grabbed it and jerked it up fast, and the peach went flying across the room!  LOL!  Ok Svea, maybe a more gentle approach would work!! This next picture is from yesterday afternoon.  She'd crawled through one of the holes in the geo-climber and was sitting under it with a big cheesy grin!  I love that little toothy grin!  (Have you heard that before!!)  So cute. I was preparing to wipe Svea's nose and I said, "Ok, this will probably make you ye...

Svea ate whole wheat toast and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she had bite of pork roast, bite of whole wheat tortillas, ate most of carrots and potatoes (which I fed to her - they were soft from cooking in the crock pot with the roast), and ate a large serving of fruit salad. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  I should just buy a couple of strollers for the kids to give each other rides!!  They love playing with it!  This old stroller with the small wheels doesn't roll on the carpet very easy, but Linnea had her head down and was giving it a good try! Next picture - I love watching Svea when Lauralea says, "Can I have a love?"  She gets right up and heads over for a good bye love and I like how she wraps her arm around the person's leg.  This was actually a reenactment of what had just taken place.  Svea was totally game to do it again!!  :)  Next picture: Sometimes she's just quiet for the longest time ...

Svea ate whole wheat English muffing and ate most of dried plums for breakfast.  I offered her the plums (cut small) with a fork and she vigorously shook her head "no" several times like she does. I just continued to hold it in front of her and then she ate one.  And another, and another....she ate at least half of them and was shaking her head every time, then eating it.  Little goofball!!  For lunch she ate a bite or two of chicken mixed with stir fry vegetables.  She ate brown rice and no oranges. This first picture if from yesterday afternoon.  We had the tunnels in the yard and the kids were having a blast in there.  I believe (starting at the closest end) it's Nora and then Svea.  (Actually there were four kids in there.)  She was frequently going the wrong way, but no one really cared and they'd get her going the same direction! Second picture:  Avi put the bunny ears on Svea and said, "Look Gary! Svea has bunny ears!" Nex...

Svea ate cheerios and no banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of ground beef, bite or two of whole wheat pita bread, bites of olives, bites of salad, and ate her strawberries. Svea's nose ran pretty much steady and I felt sorry for her having to wipe it SO much!  I'm glad you told me about her getting a bloody nose this weekend!  I tried to be gentle and quick, but you could see plainly that it still hurt! We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids were very busy of course!  Svea's a busy little girl regardless, but maybe a bit more on Toy Exchange Monday!!  As you can plainly see in the pictures below she put the bunny ears around her neck and pretty much wore them that way ALL morning!!  I don't know what toy she's chewing on in the first picture, but I primarily took this picture very quickly so I didn't miss a chance at a picture with the bunny ears!  Turns out I didn't need to worry about being so quick about i...

Svea ate lots of oatmeal and a few bites of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch; no salmon, no whole wheat dinner roll, no cauliflower, ate her mangoes. First picture: Svea hard at work first thing this morning!!  (I think she had some help from some older girls clearing the shelves!!)  Svea had a good morning and was her typical busy little self.  She has sat through Story Time every day this week.  I don't pay much attention to the length of time, but it has to be 15 - 25 minutes at least. I believe Lauralea is all done with her testing for the developmental profiles.  We'll come up with some times we can meet and let everyone choose a date and time.  In the next picture she was testing Linnea and testing always draws a crowd!  Ha!  She asked Linnea; "Can you put the phone on the pillow?"  She put it on the pillow, stood up, and looked at Lauralea like, "what's next!?"  :) Next picture: I was sitting on the e...
