Svea - 2/28/2020

Svea ate some brown rice and some raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate salmon, whole wheat dinner roll, cauliflower, and mangoes.  At breakfast Linnea was trying to interpret whatever it was Svea was saying.  Well I couldn't understand anything Linnea was saying either!!  I said, "Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about."  Linnea looked at Svea and said, "Gary doesn't know what you're talking about."  I laughed so hard. Note leftover from yesterday at Snack Time.  Lauralea sat on my lap (facing outward and grinning at the kids) and none of the kids could even see me!  Svea and Linnea were not sure if that was a good idea.  Linnea had a super serious look on her face and never did smile.  Avi and Atley were laughing SO hard.  You can see a picture I posted on Avi's Blog.  Svea said, "Don't sit on Gary."  Then she added, "You goofy."  Haha. Here are a couple pictures of Svea working hard on a piece she wa...

Svea ate half whole wheat English muffin and ate two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, most of peas, and ate applesauce. First two pictures; The kids were waving bye to a parent. About the same time the neighbor across the street came out to walk his boys to school.  Their little black puppy always tags along and the kids love watching it.  As you can see by the following picture it is a cutie.  The puppy came right up below the window and that's the first time it's done that.  And of course the kids all loved it.  They were all thumping on the window and the puppy was excited. Next picture; Svea had four or five of these stacking cups assembled and I was trying to determine if she'd done it herself or if Avilene had helped her!!  Let's just say I still don't know.  Haha!  I took this picture when Cal was watching her play in the sink and pretending to dri...

Svea ate two servings of French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of Paleo Stew with meat, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, and green beans.  She ate saltines and tropical fruit. First picture: Well Svea that's definitely an interesting location you selected for working on the puzzles. Haha.  And it looks so comfortable.  Silly Svea.  I love how she focuses on whatever she happens to working on.  That young girl had NO problem staying on task for LONG periods of time. Next picture: Svea was playing with the pop-up toy and Linnea was just sitting close by observing.  Ha.  Notice they are right beside the legos drawer and table.  So moments later they started on some legos projects.  Linnea doesn't generally spend much time with the legos, but today she did.  And joined Svea is saying; "Look what I made.  Look what I made." Last picture: Svea packed the fou...

Svea ate two servings of waffle and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of chicken, no whole wheat tortillas, ate her corn, and I'm not sure about the cinnamon apples.  Asking her a question about it was not helpful either!  Haha!! Svea squealed on Cal this morning!!  "Gary! Cal put it (legos flower) in Cal's mouth!!"  Oh man I roared laughing!!  That cracked me up!  That is such a classic case of the "pot calling the kettle black."  Svea is at the top of the charts when it comes to "toys in mouth!!"  :) First picture: So speaking of Callahan, Svea was working on her Legos Creation and Cal stopped by to see what she was working on.  And she just kept right on building and wasn't bothered by him hanging that close by.  I am SO impressed with how long she'll stay on task with her legos projects.  Very impressive Svea! Next picture:  Linnea and Svea hanging out together reading books in the ...

Svea ate kix cereal and half of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bite of turkey burger, bites of whole wheat hamburger bun, bite of tomatoes, bite of avocado, and ate cherries. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and as always the kids were very much engaged right from the moment of arrival!  I like this first picture; these two goofballs found a spot to read a book!  Haha!  Svea in the "sink" and Linnea on the "stove!!"  :) Next picture; Svea and Linnea were having fun playing together pretty much all morning!  When I took the picture of them in their beds Linnea was trying to coax Svea to get out and cover Linnea with the blanket!!  Ha! Following picture; I'm not really sure what they were doing with the stuffed animals, but I just liked how Svea had positioned her head band!  Ha! Last picture: Avilene was attempting to take a picture of Linnea and Svea.  She asked, "Can I take your picture?"  ...

Svea ate half of French toast and a bite of plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pulled pork, no whole wheat toast, ate half of peas, and ate strawberries. I took this first picture as soon as Avilene was finished with breakfast.  Svea had finished earlier and was working hard at building with the legos.  Avi went sprinting across the room and said, "Hey Svea! Do you wanna run?!?"  Svea was focused and just kept on working.  It was pretty cool because Avi accepted that and didn't even ask the second time!!  I really like that because Avi was respecting Svea's choice of activity.  And Avi even joined in on what Svea was doing. Next picture: I happened to have the camera ready when Svea was at the mirror and started licking it. Thanks Svea for cleaning, but Sylvie can handle it!!  :)  If you zoom in you can see her tongue.  I showed Svea the picture and said, "Please don't lick the mirror."  Avi heard that and came flying ove...

Svea ate most of whole wheat toast and two servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of ground beef with marinara sauce on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles.  She ate two servings of cauliflower and ate fruit salad.  (She ate a lot of food at Lunch!!) To anyone following Svea's Daily Blog:  There will be NO Blog tomorrow, February 20th, as I have to report to Jury Duty tomorrow morning.  It's in Municipal Court so I don't anticipate this lasting more than a day at the most.  (Hopefully!) First two pictures; Sometimes these Blogs sound and feel a bit repetitious, but these are favorite things she likes to do and favorite places to hang out.  :)  Remember it was books, books, and more books every day for a long time.  She still reads books every day, just not as much.  Right now it's legos, legos, and more legos.  Look at how serious and focused she is when working on her creative pieces.  She's...

Svea had no whole wheat bagel and ate two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shrimp, no whole wheat toast, half of stir fry vegetables, and ate two servings of raspberries. I burned the brown rice so we substituted toast for lunch.  Atley said, "I don't like that smell!!"  It was pretty rank, I agree!  :) First picture: The four girls; Avi, Atley, Linnea, and Svea barricaded themselves in the igloo.  Or maybe it was built to keep Callahan out!  He really didn't want to be in the igloo anyhow!!  He was way more fixated on attaining one of the flashlights they had.  And that is what he was reaching for around the blocks when I took this picture.  Haha.  And he managed to snatch one right after this picture!!  Score! Good job Cal!! Next picture: Svea's cute little mullet is getting pretty long isn't it!?!  I took this picture shortly after she arrived.  Checking out some books. If you zoom in you'll se...

Svea ate cream of wheat cereal and half of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she had a couple bites of a chicken combination with cabbage, sweet potatoes, and Brussel sprouts.  She ate bites of brown rice and several bites of pineapple. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when I was snuggling Svea.  I don't think she felt very well because that's the only time she's snuggly around here.  It was close to the end of the day and I had time to snuggle with her. Avi was grabbing Svea on the mattress and Svea was asking her to stop!   I loved how she was changing emphasis on the words.   She started with; "Don't grab me."  Then it changed to "DON'T grab me!"  Then it was "DON"T grab ME!!"  Nice job of using your words Svea! In the next picture Svea found "Woody" among the toys in the Daycare Room.  Which was pretty funny because Avi and Atley had been searching earlier without any luck.  It got ...

Svea ate most of waffles and two servings of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of turkey meat loaf, no whole wheat tortillas, two servings of sweet potatoes, and two servings of cherries. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  Svea is on the top shelf and she was pretending to nap.  Linnea was asking; "Are you cold?"  Svea said, "Yes."  Linnea said, "I'm gonna cover you up."  :) Next picture: Callahan was watching while Svea piles up the pizza pieces.  He was ready to snatch one and she barked at him!!  ha.  Look how he's sitting there all still and obedient!!  Too bad you can't see it in "Live Mode."  He's not nearly as compliant as the picture makes him look.  In the following picture Linnea and Svea were doing some more "skiing."  They were also doing this activity yesterday. Last picture: All four girls had on an animal suit, or at least wearing one like a jac...

Svea ate two servings of French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of Whole 30 Chili with meat, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, tomato sauce, and spices.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll and two servings of tropical fruit. Svea was at the window and I could see she was focused on something!  It was a bug - similar in size and appearance - to a mosquito.  It was on the outside (I informed her it was), but she was sure it was inside, especially when it started to move!  Svea started screaming, 'It's coming!!  It's coming!!  It's coming!  It's coming!!"  :) First two pictures are from yesterday afternoon.  Atley was playing hide-n-seek with Svea and they were having lots of fun.  Atley is hunkered down behind the legos wall and in the second picture Atley is peering in the igloo at Svea.  "Found You!"  Which wasn't too challenging because Atley had watched her hide....

Svea ate bites of whole wheat English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate some pork roast, no whole wheat toast, ate beets, and two servings of applesauce. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Svea was playing with the microphone. She was walking around saying, "I promise, I promise, I promise."  (Like she has a clue what that might mean!?! Ha!)  Second picture: Well look at the slick cleaned-up shelf.  Getting all the toys off the shelf is the primarily activity!! Next picture: Cal is back today and Svea found a good safe spot for her cars.  (So far he hasn't figured out how to climb up on the couch.)  This is kind of how she's been playing recently; it's a "stage" they go through.  She's playing with the cars, so ALL the cars are her's!!  Food toys, phones, dolls, and cars.  Following picture; She plays with dolls, stuffed animals, and doll blankets every day.  Avi rarely/never p...

Svea ate bites of Chex cereal and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef mixed with two servings of avocado, no whole wheat sandwich thins, no tomatoes, and ate mandarin oranges. First picture: Svea working on her own birthday card to give to Grandma.  She did lots of coloring on it and then lots of stickers.  She was working very hard when I took this picture.  And making very deliberate marks.  That's a developmental milestone and the early stages of representational drawing.  This was fun to watch. Next two pictures - we did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the first things Svea wanted were the dolls and doll blankets!  "Where are MY blankets!?!"  There are dolls and doll blankets in every toy set, but some of the blankets are "doll size" and won't cover Svea very well when she lays down to be covered!!  :)  She didn't seem to care; she just improvised!!  Next picture: Sve...
