Svea - 9/30/2020

Svea and Avilene arrived about 9:30 and Avi said they had cereal for breakfast.  For lunch Svea ate a large serving of Whole 30 Chili with meat, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, peppers, and spices.  She ate bites of whole wheat dinner roll and ate a large serving of tropical fruit.    This first picture is a bit different than the one I posted on Avi's Blog, but it too is left over from yesterday afternoon when we ventured out on a very short "field trip." Ha.  Across the street and three houses down on Rainbow Drive they have their yard full of halloween decorations.  Everyone listened very well - "either that or we're heading back immediately" -  but we didn't stay long because the little boys naturally wanted to get out of the wagons when we stopped.   Here's an example of something that frequently happens with this age group.  Svea started yelling, "GARY! GARY! GARY!!"  What?  "Cal's trying to get my toys!!"  So I...

Svea ate no raisin cinnamon English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, ate brown rice, a large serving of broccoli, and bites of pineapple.  Nora had been yapping at Svea (Svea's table partner to her right) about not having a bite of her English muffin.  Nora was expounding eloquently about the muffin and how "it's good for you and healthy for your body."  Of course Nora only had ONE bite so I took a picture of it and put it in Nora's Blog.  :) Svea was talking to Nora and she said, "No one can get our stuff."  Nora said, "I know that."  Haha.  They were essentially trying to guard their stuff from Miles and Callahan.  Svea looked at Miles and said, "Try to find your own stuff Miles."  :) First picture:  (I love this dress with the hood.)  Miles was about to make his move for the food toys.  :)  Svea likes to get the food toys, take them to the couch, set them down, and go get some more. ...

Svea ate whole grain Chex cereal and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of refried beans with hamburger and shredded cheese spread on top.  She ate no corn tortilla and ate mandarin oranges.   Ok, I'll get the Blogs back up and running!!  Our Family from Billings left yesterday and our Louisiana Family left today about Noon.  It was wonderful having everyone here and we were super super busy.  The best news; our Louisiana Family is going home to electricity after 28 days without it!!  I'm Very Thankful for that!! This first picture is leftover from last Wednesday afternoon and I just always get a kick out of seeing the smaller kids giving rides to the bigger kids.  Svea giving Nora rides in a stroller.   We managed to get a Toy, book, and puzzle exchange done this weekend!  Primarily done by one of our workers; Svea and Avi's big Sister.  Thanks for all your hard work Sylvie.  In the next picture Sve...

Hi Everyone!  Just a quick note to say there will be no Blog today and tomorrow.  The Blogs will resume on Monday the 28th.  I have a Dr appointment today and my excuse for tomorrow; our 3 Grandchildren are here.  It's lots of fun and VERY busy which is a challenge to take pictures and notes for the Blogs.  Thank you.

Svea had no whole wheat toast and ate two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork roast, no whole wheat tortillas, ate carrots, and two servings of fruit salad.   I was changing Cal's diaper shortly before Nap time and Svea was near his head talking to him.  I heard her say, "Cal, you're just so beautiful!"  Then she said, "And Atley, Avi, Me, and Nora.  And (looking at me) you." So I asked, "What about Miles?"  She said, "Yes yes."  :)   First picture: This was right after breakfast and I asked Svea if she'd twirl her dress for us.  (Christina, Matthew, his Mom, Lauralea, and me.)  Her reaction was cute and I wasn't quick enough with the camera to get her face, but you get the idea. Next picture:  Svea and Nora were doing their usual cave hideout.   Pretty much just laying in there sucking their thumbs.  I think it's a "bonding experience" for them.  :)  Following picture: Nora and Svea in the ...

Svea ate a bite of raisin cinnamon English muffin and ate two servings of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of chicken stir fry, bites of brown rice, and ate mandarin oranges.   Ok, I'm gonna tell a poop story.  If that grosses you out, then you better skip to the next paragraph!  I was in the kitchen at the sink and the big girls, primarily Avi and Atley, were yelling that there was "poop on the floor!!"  I went running out and sure enough Callahan had a few little piles of poop in a small area; maybe two feet in diameter.  (Avi had picked up some poop on her socks!)  Ok, this is not the first time for that and I did the smartest thing I could think of; yell for help!!  "HEY LAURALEA!!"  I'll bet she's glad she's working from home!  LOL!!  I seriously owe her a big bonus!!  Again.  I put Cal in the sink in the entry room (again) and Lauralea worked on the floor.  But here's the kicker to the story: ...

Svea ate two servings of cheerios and bites of banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, no biscuits, ate olives, avocado, and two servings of mandarin oranges. It was so nice to see Svea this morning.  She had a wonderful morning and played with all the things that are her favorites;  car ramps, dolls, doll blankets, dress-up clothes and making caves.  I think this first picture is so cute; hey, it's a "thumb-sucking" moment!!  In the second picture;  Svea loves her mirrors!  She was playing with the dress-up clothes and then laying on the mattress with the blanket singing songs. Next picture:  The three little guys helping Svea play with the car ramps.  And in the last picture they're playing with the car ramps again, just a different group of kids.  At breakfast Nora said, "I love you Svea." Atley yelled, "Hey, do you love me too?!?"

Just want to do a FYI for everyone.  My daughter Christina and Grandson Gideon will be here later today.  So excited to have them coming for a couple of weeks.  I think this is day 20 they've been without electricity in Louisiana from hurricane Laura.  (Think of the heat without air conditioning!!)  Also, I just want to mention that when the air quality is in the hazardous range I will not be taking the children outside.  I have two air purifiers from the Health Department (One was free! ahh, not really free. Thanks to all of us tax payers.) to help with the inside air while the smoke remains.   Svea ate two servings of waffle and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For Lunch she ate chicken, half of whole wheat tortillas, ate corn, and ate baked cinnamon apples.   This first picture is left over from yesterday.  I like this because it's basically how Svea likes to play; get ALL the toys from that set!  (See the 5 cars on top of...

Svea ate some kix cereal and two servings of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate turkey burger, bites of whole wheat hamburger bun, bites of tomato, ate avocado, and ate mandarin oranges.    First picture; This is what Svea was doing when I got back from my appointment just before breakfast.  (She already has her bib on.)  In the second picture Cal joined Svea and Miles at the window.  Svea was sticking the "cheese" and "meat" to the window.  Haha.  It's kind of a rubber material that clings to the window.  Cal is trying with his "bread slices," but that's made with something different.  :)  Why does her's stick and mine doesn't!?!  :) Next picture: Wearing a bear mask and reading books.  I like her choice of places to read a book.  :) Next picture; This made me laugh.  Svea had her books to read, but she was taking a moment to gaze out the window when Miles came over to snatch one of her books.  S...

Svea ate a few bites of oatmeal and bites of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of hamburger stew with meat, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, and green beans.  She ate whole wheat dinner roll and two servings of apricots.   First picture:  Nora and Svea had isolated and barricaded themselves in the igloo.  Miles was yanking on their door covering and they were admonishing him. Ha.  When Miles hears the kids having fun he immediately goes to investigate now...sooo...Nora's life at home is going to get very interesting!!  Ha! Next picture: "Hey Gary!! Look at me."  :)  Callahan was watching Svea do this and went to the other end of the couch to give it a go.  His approach was not nearly as safe.  He was hanging way over head-first, but somehow managed not to get over-center and topple onto his head!!  :) Next picture: Nora and Svea were playing with the little car ramp and Callahan was watching. ...

Svea had two servings of French toast and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, peas, and two servings of watermelon.   Ok everyone, sorry, but no pictures on today's Blog!!  For some reason the pictures I took today will not load on Blogger.com so I'll try to figure that out tonight.  (Blogger.com has been updated so I may need to do something to make sure I'm still compatible.)  The Blog will no doubt be much shorter because I depend on the pictures to tell the stories!!  So I'll just try to paint the pictures for you.  Ha! Picture # 1:  Callahan and Svea were going around and around the big car ramp which was placed in the middle of the room.  (Put anything in the middle of the room and that age group loves to circle it!!)  Then Miles joined them by crawling around and around too.  The only problem; They rarely all go in the same direction at the same time.  Ha.  Picture # 2: ...

Svea ate whole wheat toast and three servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with marinara sauce on top whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate cauliflower, and two servings of fruit salad.    Svea was running and looking sideways; what is she doing?  She quickly answered that!  "Hey Gary! My hair is wiggly when I run."  Haha.  Yes it is.   Some pictures from Svea's morning: Atley, Nora, and Svea dancing in front of the mirror.  I love how they go right to the mirror to do their dancing.  :)  Second picture: She was snuggled up on the couch with her blanket sucking her thumb.  Sometimes it's hard to get a picture before they whip around to see what I'm doing!!  Third picture: Playing with the little car ramp.  Her yellow car is at the bottom and had just went flying down the ramp. Last picture: Look out Svea!  The boys are headed for your toys!!  And they were!! Ha.  Don't worry abo...

Svea ate blueberry bagel and and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken salad with meat, peppers, mushrooms, shredded carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, sliced almonds, hard boiled egg, avocado and lettuce.   She had a bite of whole wheat tortillas, and ate two servings of raspberries.    First picture; Svea showing Cal her cat-mask up close and personal!  Cal was studying that mask, then shortly after the picture they were chasing each other around the room.   Next picture: I had to run an errand this morning and Lauralea covered for me.  (Geez, it's nice having her work from home!!  Haha.)  So this is a picture she took when I was gone.  We found a game called "Yoga Pretzels" with lots of different activities for kids.  So that's what is happening in the this picture.   Last picture; Svea was stockpiling some cars on the top of the car ramp.  The cutest part of this; she was singing and talki...

Svea ate bites of whole grain cream of wheat cereal and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of her chicken,  ate brown rice, half of broccoli, and half of pineapple.    We played outside this morning - even though all of Svea's pictures were taken during inside play before going out.  Svea was trying to get on one of the big bikes outside and she asked, "Gary, is this bike big enough?"  Hahaha.  I knew what she was really asking and I said, "Yes, that's one of the big bikes."  So she went over and started playing on a little bike.  :)  First picture:  Svea was hauling legos over to the book area and then yelling at Miles for playing with them.  So I "suggested" she go get him some of his own legos and that's what she's doing here.  In the second picture: She was heading over to tell Lauralea goodbye (going to a staff meeting in an outdoor park) and doing some "showing-off" at the same time.  Ha. ...

Svea ate waffle and three servings of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of ground turkey, no whole wheat tortillas, no sweet potatoes, and ate cherries.  At Lunch Atley made this proclamation; "There are NO fancy boys and NO fancy girls at this Preschool!!"  LOL. I have no idea what that means to her, but it sure made me laugh.  I wasn't sure if I should be proud or offended.  :)  After all (as I keep reminding my Program families) I am from Sanders County so I was slightly proud!!  :)   This first picture is from 2 days ago I think!!  I asked Svea to pick up the baby toys in the room where Miles sleeps and told her she could play with the toys first.  When Miles wakes up from his nap, and the girls are still sleeping in the Day Care room, Avi usually goes in there with him and entertains him with these baby toys.  Thank you for picking up the toys Svea. This next picture is from yesterday afternoon and I was trying...
