Svea - 09/30/2021

Svea ate half of ground beef, ate whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas/carrots, and half of applesauce. Well the night was short and the morning was shorter - ha - so the Blog may be shorter. To fill a little space I took a picture of their lunch plate so you can see the amount of food I serve. Let's just say my servings far exceed the Federal Food Program guidelines!! Dang, those servings are so small. Anyhow we don't often talk about the food served here, so here's a picture of the Lunch today and all the kids get the same amount. So if I report they eat all of a serving you can know they are eating a lot of food!! :) This is more about Cal, but applies to everyone. So I have a silly routine during Daycare when I have to use the Bathroom. I always say, "Ok kids I'm going to the bathroom and Miles is in charge." Or whoever I choose for that day!! This morning Cal was the only one here and I told him I was going to the bathroom and he asked, "Who's in...

Svea ate French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate a bite of Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potatoes, green beans, carrots, and tomatoes. She ate saltines and ate the mangoes out of the pineapple/mango. :) Svea had Cal involved in her make-believe play and she told Cal to "go get Grandfather." So Callahan walked over to Miles - who was not involved in their play and was totally baffled by this remark - "Svea needs you Grandfather." LOL. Dang that was funny.  This first picture is leftover from yesterday afternoon and all three kids are under the cozy corner rug; even though you can only see Cal's feet! :) Second picture: Svea said she was fixing food for her and Cal. Miles is rarely part of the make believe play - just like in above paragraph - and he's fine with that. He's usually doing his own thing and stays very busy. I make sure he has opportunity to join others in their play when he...

Svea ate waffle and grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate two servings of chicken, ate whole wheat tortilla, corn, and apple bites.   This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Svea and Miles were having fun with their little game. Svea (in the wagon in case you missed that) would take Miles all the way to the gate and tell him to run pushing the ice cream cart and she'd sprint to lay down in the wagon. He'd come up the sidewalk as fast as he could go and crash into the wagon. Over and over with both of them laughing and squealing. Silly kids.  Next picture; Svea was working on coloring a coffee filter and then we sprayed water on it to watch the colors run. The boys wanted to join her so they were doing Art 30 minutes before breakfast. Their pieces all came out very pretty. Why this picture? Because she'd dropped a marker on the floor and was determined to retrieve it without leaving her chair. Scoot, scoot, scoot and she got it. Mission accomplished....

Svea ate kix cereal and no fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground turkey, whole wheat hamburger bun, tomatoes, and two servings of cherries. Svea sharing random information at breakfast: "I like unicorns, eagles, and bluebirds." Haha. "Well thank you. Does anyone else feel like sharing things they like?" :) We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and just like I've said every two weeks for years now, "the kids stayed busy all morning." Haha. (That doesn't' seem to change so I'd say the technique has worked and been very successful!!) First picture: Svea brought a few items from home and then decided to put them back in her cubby. "I'm putting this stuff back so we don't fight over it." :) Second picture; She didn't put all of her stuff back because that's her small blanket that Cal is sitting on. She was in the middle of setting out lots of toys and Cal was basically just one of her pro...

Svea ate some oatmeal and no apple bites for breakfast. For lunch she ate bites of Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, sweet potatoes, tomato sauce, tomatoes, and lots of spices. She ate whole wheat dinner roll, and half of her fruit cocktail. This note is more about Avi from Snack yesterday, but then Svea added to the note today at lunch as well. At Snack yesterday I was telling Miles to "stop poking holes in your food and just eat it." At the exact moment I finished talking Miles farted! So funny. Avilene just about fell out of her chair laughing so hard. Then at Lunch today Svea said, "Hey Gary, do you remember that day when you were done talking and Miles farted!?!" Haha. First picture from yesterday too! Miles still had on his pink PJ's - just gotten up from his nap -  and was laying on the couch with Svea. She liked it that he had his hand resting on her back. Second picture; Svea said, "Hey Miles! Do this!" And he crawled right up and did what sh...

Svea's Blog will be short today as she was here about 30 minutes before I was putting Lunch on the kid's plates. For lunch she ate pulled pork, bites of whole wheat toast, no peas/carrots, and ate her strawberries.  Svea came in eating a goldfish snack and said, "I have goldfish in my bowl." Then she added; "Atley and Nora have never tried them!" Haha. Oh really, I thought goldfish was a pretty common treat for kids.  "Hey Gary! When Nora comes to my house she's gonna loooove my bed." Why will she loooove your bed? "Because it's sooooo pretty." :) Svea went and sat in the swivel/rocker and told Miles he needed to push the chair. Initially he started walking backwards. Ha. I told him it would work better if he'd go the other direction. He totally got that idea and immediately changed directions. Svea only cared about one thing; "Go Miles! Go!" :)

Svea ate whole wheat toast and two servings of mangoes for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate riced cauliflower, and ate fruit salad. Cal was pointing at the smoke alarm and said, "Can we do fireworks!?! Can we do fireworks!?! I want to do it! I want to do it!" Haha. Yes we can do a fire drill . :) And we did.  Yesterday Svea was laying face down on the slide outside and trying to belly-crawl up the slide. And of course that was not working. She finally said, "It's NOT no use!" (There's the ole' double negative!) That really made me laugh; it was so cute. Callahan was already on the climber and he reached down and was able to assist in pulling her up. Thanks Cal!! Svea was trying to coax Cal into wearing a tutu and dancing with her. (He did yesterday, but wasn't really interested today!) Svea said, "Cal!! If you don't wear this tutu you can NOT get up on stage!!" ...

Svea ate blueberry bagel and most of her grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate some of everything; shrimp, brown rice smothered in blackberry juice, broccoli, and blackberries. The big girls may be gone, but the tradition continues; smother the rice with berry juice. :)  Here's the story behind the first picture. And it's what they've been doing every day for over a week. Cal said, "How bout we build a cave!?!" Which means; we the boys lay here and you Svea build it!! Haha. And that's the way she wants it!! If they try to help she instructs them to "get back in the cave!" Haha. Second picture is more of the same with a bit of a twist. She is now going to build "Grandma's House" and that is always by the block cabinet. (The "cave" is always in the cozy corner.) However, before she can build Grandma's House they have to destroy the cave and the Boys are all over that. Apparently she knows they're good at that!! Haha. I...

Svea ate bran cereal and no raisins for breakfast. For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat pita bread, ate cucumbers, and no pears. I've mentioned several times about Svea the Queen being the boss and Cal frequently does defer to her. However not always and here's an example. Cal was building with the blocks and told Svea it was a "vacuum." Svea said, "Well it looks like a bed." Cal said, "No it's a vacuum." "Looks like a bed." "No it's a vacuum." When it comes to vacuum cleaners he's an expert and he'll back down to no one. Haha.  I have a couple notes and a picture left over from Friday afternoon.  Svea said, "Cal! Do you wanna wrestle? I'll be gentle with you." LOL. I roared! Svea was adorned with several purses and looking at herself in the mirror; and obviously impressed too! She said, "Hey Cal, I'm the fanciest person in the world." So cute. (Think Fancy Nancy.)\ Picture: It alway...

Svea ate most of cream of wheat cereal and ate dried plums for breakfast. For lunch she ate chicken, some brown rice, no carrots, and no pineapple. Cal and Svea were at the window waiting to wave at Momma Maddy and Cal just randomly said, "My Mom is not mad!" LOL! Well that's good news for all of us. :)  First picture: Svea was here for a few minutes before Cal arrived and this is what she was doing!! Ha. So cute. She loves this rock. It's very pretty and sparkles nicely especially when the sun is directly hitting it. Next two pictures: Svea was playing at the Doll House and when I peeked around the corner to see if she was still playing this is what I saw. Ha. She was laying on the floor and had the container over her head. She saw me taking a picture and in a couple of minutes she said, "Hey Gary! Come look at this!" Ok, that's another picture for the Blog!! Then she asked for help to get off the container! The kids wanted to go the open field beside M...

Svea ate waffle and two servings of Mango/Strawberry for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground turkey, whole wheat tortillas, 2 big bites of sweet potatoes (to get more cherries), and two servings of cherries.  This picture is left over from yesterday afternoon and I was tickled when Svea said, "Hey Gary!! The PS is here!!" I knew exactly what that meant, but I had to get a picture too as Miles joined her to watch the PS man at work. :) Next picture: Svea is filling her purse with food toys similar to what she was doing yesterday. I asked, "Where are you going?" Svea said, "To a workshop. That's where you cook in a big room." And she eventually had lots of food toys set up and was still in that mode. I asked, "Is this the workshop?" And she said, "Yes." I love how her dramatic play just goes and goes and goes!! That's very impressive. In the following picture she was preparing more food and I heard Cal say, "Ok Momma I will ...

Svea ate French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast. For lunch she wouldn't try the hamburger stew with meat, green beans, tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes. She ate whole wheat dinner roll and fruit cocktail. I'd take a dollar for every time this morning Svea said, "Cal" "Hey Cal" CAL!" "HEY CAL!". Ok, you get the point. And they played together ALL morning. First two pictures: She got Cal all covered with pillows and settled into the cozy corner. AND she told him to sit there while she worked on their "cave." Second picture: Yup, he's following orders and she's almost done with the cave. Hilarious. She told him; "Cal, you need to be a good listener. Like I am." :) Third picture: Ok, this must be true love because take it from me Cal NEVER wears the rabbit ears like this!! Never. Svea said, "No not like that Cal, do it like this." And in the fourth picture there goes the happy couple. Haha....

Svea not here for breakfast. For lunch she had no pulled pork, ate whole wheat toast, no beets, and ate applesauce. Svea was getting frustrated with Cal and Miles (primarily Cal) at the Lunch table because they were making goofy sounds and NOT listening enough to what Svea had to say. She said, "Gary!! I keep asking Cal and Miles a  question, but they keep bothering my question." It was hard not to laugh at that!!  Special Bulletin: Svea made an announcement!! "Hey Gary, after January one I want my Birthday to be February eleven!" Ok, I'll put the word out and see if anyone will make that happen for you! :) This first picture is from yesterday at Nap Time and this is the "Stretching Game." I was giggling while I was taking the picture and Svea asked, "Is this funny?" :) Yup. Second picture: Svea was having fun with this activity dressing up the girls. This is the first thing she did after she arrived this morning.  Next picture: On the patio ...
