Svea - 03/24/2022

Image
Svea ate her whole wheat English muffin serving and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, no peas, and ate her applesauce.  This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon and it was cute how Cal and Svea were on their tummies on the swings. They'd run real hard and coast backwards over and over. They also played on this one set of equipment the most and Svea did (and said) everything she possibly could to get Cal to go down the steep slide. Then she resorted to threats: "If you want me to play with you go down the slide." "If you want me to be your friend go down the slide." "If you want all my money Cal, go down the slide." She was certainly persistent, but his resistance matched her persistence stride for stride. (Personally, I'd have taken the money Cal! Haha.) Next picture: Everyone was rowdy and having a great time. The "big" kids sure like to be matche...

Svea ate most of her French toast casserole and two servings of strawberries for breakfast. For Lunch she ate half of her Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, tomatoes, green beans, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and sweet potatoes. She ate two servings of Saltines, and also ate her Mangoes. First two pictures - Hudson and Cal are both here today and the kids have been having a great time. I took these two pictures shortly after they arrived and poor Svea was trying to hard to get Cal to acknowledge her presence. And especially her beautiful Princess dress. "Look at my dress Cal. Look at my dress." Nope, that wasn't happening!! He pretended to be fully engaged in his activities. Haha. I like how he says it better; " Av-i-tiv-i-tees. " I've never seen him concentrate so hard!! :) Next picture: Ok, I LOVE this picture. She was sitting her for a few minutes enjoying the sunlight and it was adorable. Lauralea noticed what she was doing and alerted me to the photo op. :...

Svea had a couple bites of waffle and ate two large servings of grapes for breakfast. These grapes are from Costco and are called "Candy Grapes." Very very yummy. For Lunch she ate whole wheat tortillas and corn. No chicken or apple bites. Here are a couple pictures from yesterday afternoon at Cold Springs School Playground. The kids had a blast and there is enough things to do that our 2 hours went pretty fast. Second picture: For example, what's more fun than making it rain pebbles on your head. Haha. Goofy kids. If you look closely you can see lots of pebbles in the air.  Here's a side note from the Park. Atley is a Treasure Hunter. All that play equipment and she'd way rather search for goodies. She found a clear lens from a bike reflector. Avi convinced her that she desperately needed that clear lens for a project she's working on so Atley eventually gave it to Avi. Then for some unknown reason Avi stuck it in her mouth. I said, "YUCK!! Atley found t...

Svea ate kix cereal and no fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of ground turkey topped with avocado. She ate toasted whole wheat sandwich thin, and ate a large serving of cherries. She heard me tell Atley the cherries are "frozen cherries" obviously thawed out from yesterday. Svea said, "Gary, I like warm cherries." Haha.  Here are a couple Avilene quotes from this morning when she was obviously thinking of me retiring!!  "You are our new babysitter when you retire!" :) "After you retire, would it still be ok if we have Birthday Parties at your House?" Of course. She added, "Svea wanted me to ask you that!" It was SOOO cute. They remember the time during the Pandemic when we had a Birthday Party for Nora; April 2020, because they'd to cancel their original Birthday Party. First thing this morning: Avi reading books to Svea and me. They had them all laid out and waiting for me to sit down. Second picture; Then on to ...

Svea ate kix cereal and no grapes for breakfast. She ate a lot of cereal and said, "This is making me want to eat all of it." That made me laugh. Then she added, "I want to go to Three Hills, but I just can't stop eating it." When she first sat down for breakfast she said, "It seems like I'm the only one here!" Haha.  For Lunch she ate half of her chicken, ate whole wheat toast, half of her carrots, and three servings of mandarin oranges. First thing after breakfast: Svea and I walked over to Cold Springs School Playground and it's amazing how much stuff they have!! Lots of it is fairly new AND then they closed the doors of the school to build a new School in a different location. (Which was sorely needed for more space.) Svea had lots of options!! There is also lots of stuff for older kids - see the second picture - Svea asked, "Hey Gary! Can I try this!?!" Ha! ("Hmmm...no.") We'll definitely be going there next week wh...

Svea chose to not eat breakfast: French toast (casserole - new recipe) and dried plums. For lunch she ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, ate peas, and two servings of strawberries. Nora was here for lunch and they were soaking up their strawberry juice with their toast. Ha. Silly kids. First picture: We've talked about this before, but again we have the slow unveiling of Svea's Goodie Bag for the day. She carefully takes out one item at a times as the anticipation builds. Haha. Makes me laugh. Second picture: One of the items was a book and Svea started reading it to the boys. Then she asked me to read it so we did. I was impressed that Miles sat for all of the story because there are lots of words in this book about "Fairy Hide and Seek." Next picture: They asked for the big blanket from the Patio again today. It's hard to get one picture with all 3 of them together. So here's the best I could do; Haha. Svea's butt, legs, and feet. Following picture: Las...

Svea ate bites of whole wheat toast and two large servings of mangoes for breakfast. For lunch she ate no ground beef with marinara sauce on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, bites of cauliflower, and ate a large serving of fruit salad. I took this first picture when I returned from my Wellness Checkup this morning. It's nice to have a quality  sub . :) (You've all heard me say this, but that never stops me from repeating something!! I tell Lauralea she's my Assistant and she makes it very clear she is my Consultant!! Haha.) Speaking of subbing - for my Birthday in May Lauralea is gifting me with a week of Child Care coverage so I can go to Louisiana. I am so happy and feel so Blessed to be able to go see my family there. I will be gone from May 7 - 14. Little Treasures will operate as usual except maybe no Blogs that week. It will be Lauralea's choice. Next picture: I'm not sure what Svea was doing under the legos table, but the drawer wasn't open very far ...

Svea chose not to eat breakfast here: blueberry bagel and grapes. For lunch she ate bites of shrimp, ate a large serving of brown rice covered with berry juice, no green beans, and no mixed berries. First picture: Miles was sitting here doing puzzles and not pestering anyone!! Ha. So I guess maybe Svea thought she'd better pester him first. She started making silly faces at him and Miles was all over that! He stood up and did his best silly face right back at her. Second picture: I'm not sure what precipitated this 'silent treatment' from Svea, but most likely Cal was not following her lead appropriately in the make-believe game she'd created. Haha. Third picture: Cal and Svea in the Preschool Room constructing things with the legos.  Next picture: This was pretty entertaining to watch. First they asked me to move the mattress away from the wall so they could run around and around and around the mattress. Then they all started claiming to be the "Ginger Bread M...

Svea ate half of bran cereal and bites of raisins for breakfast. For lunch she ate chicken topped with avocado, whole wheat pita bread, cucumber, and no pears. We saw a young man this morning with an amazingly BIG afro-haircut. It was huge and I've seen some large large afro styles going back to the late 60's - 70's. This was a good one! I said, "WOW! Look at that haircut! Cal said, "You should get one of those!!" LOL!! That sure made me laugh.  Svea was working hard to close one eye and keep the other eye open. She finally thought she'd accomplished what she wanted and said, "Hey Gary!! I can see cross-eyed under here!!" LOL! First picture: Svea arrived and quickly got things organized and under control; her control. Haha. She has food toys all laid out on the balance beam. All three of them have plastic kitchen "knives" and are going up and down the crack between the two sinks. :) Second picture; Svea has always liked the Frog Suit a...

Svea chose to not have any breakfast: cream of wheat cereal and dried plums. For lunch she ate chicken, brown rice, no broccoli, and three no pineapple. Lunch time Cal made a random proclamation!! He said, "Because I am the funny sucker!!" Haha. Yup, he's heard me call him that a few times.  This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon right after Miles awoke from his nap. (Too cute to just delete!!) Svea was reading/singing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" book to Miles. I was amused by her head-wrap and she said, "I'm pretending like I have a headache." Second picture: The boys were getting ready to do some jumping and also checking out some of the stuff Svea brought from home. (While Svea keeps a close eye on those sketchy boys! Ha.) Miles was most impressed with the stuffed snake. "Snake, Snake, Snake, Snake."  More fun pictures from this morning. Svea pretending to sleep. Which is fun except she demands quietness from Miles and Ca...

Svea ate most of her waffle with syrup and two large servings of fruit salad for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground turkey, bites of whole wheat tortilla, bites of sweet potato, and ate her cherries.  I took this first picture yesterday afternoon when Nora was here and Svea was enjoying time with Nora very much!! They did several activities together, but probably had the most fun under the blanket in their "cave." Svea was giggling and laughing so hard!! And I love that! First picture I took this morning. Svea led Cal into the Preschool Room in front of the entry door again for the unveiling of her bag of goodies from home. Every day when Svea arrives Cal be like; "What'd you bring today Svea!?!" Haha. And like I've said before, the unveiling is always a production. Haha. Following picture; Svea coaxed Cal into doing this activity with her for a few minutes before he lost interest. :)  Last picture: Some more hard giggling and laughing from Svea. Ha. "...
