Svea's Journal

Svea ate oatmeal and baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, and tomatoes.  No whole wheat dinner roll and had a bite of apricots. I want to remind everyone my vacation starts next week on Thursday July 4th and I'll be back on Monday July 15th.  I've told several of you, but in case someone is wondering we've rented a Forest Service cabin for 7 nights - no electricity or cell service; Cheers!! - and then go to Billings to see our Granddaughters.  Oh yes, my Son and Daughter-in-law live in Billings too!!  :) These first two pictures are left over from yesterday afternoon.  First picture - Lauralea put a ponytail in Svea's hair.  Svea is looking at the comb on the arm of the chair in case you were wondering!  Second picture: Lauralea read some books to the kids yesterday and it was great to have her hang out with us.  Svea loves Lauralea and it's so cute.  Atley s...

Svea ate French toast and half of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of ground beef with marinara sauce, bites of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, a bite of cauliflower, and ate fruit salad. Svea had another great morning; just like most mornings!!  She really does well at Daycare and is lots of fun to take care of!  She's very self-entertaining, fun loving, great sense of humor, loves to explore, etc, etc, etc.  First picture: She's covering her baby with a "blanket," but what you don't see is how long she fiddled with that bandana getting it perfectly adjusted before she laid it over the doll.  She's watched Nora do that many many times.  Second picture; Putting on one of the masks!! Svea ate half of whole wheat toast and ate two servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a couple bites of pulled pork, no whole wheat bun, ate some peas, and ate strawberries. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when the kids got up from their naps.  It was cute how Svea and Linnea arranged themselves to read books.  Nora was actually laying there first and it was really surprising that she didn't loudly protest the invasion.  Nora even tucked her legs up tighter to make more room for them.  :)   Svea had her usual fun and busy morning playing all around the Daycare room.  She has been working hard at the legos and she's been having lots of success putting them together.  This piece is one she "looted" from Atley or Avi and then Svea disassembled it and put some back together. Svea ate whole wheat bagel and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shrimp, brown rice, bites of stir fry vegetables, and ate raspberries. First picture: As you can see Svea and Linnea were sitting very close together playing with the food toys.  I've mentioned this previously, but I really like having the visual to show examples of how they interact at this age.  This is usually referred to as "parallel play" as they are close to each other doing very similar things, but not really playing "together" or having much interaction.  These two play like this very frequently!! Next picture: I was having fun playing with Svea on the mattress.  She was rolling away from me when I would try to take a picture.  But I still got a very cute picture of you Svea! Ha! Last picture: Svea hanging out close by the book rack doing some reading.  Just like she does almost every other day!!

Svea ate bran cereal and most of her raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of chicken, no whole wheat hamburger bun, bites of cucumber, no avocado, and ate pears. I took this picture just moments after Svea was done waving at Momma at the window so you could see the first thing she chose to play with here.  I hadn't even taken off her jacket yet.  Linnea also got a doll and was playing with her baby at the same time.  The two girls were several feet apart, but kept yelling "MINE" when they'd look at each other's dolls!!  Goofy kids!  Yup, that's a typical Monday morning as they settle back into the Daycare routine.  They carried that same behavior to their highchairs for breakfast.  They were looking at each other yelling, "ME ME ME ME" while I was getting their breakfast on their trays. Svea ate kix cereal and no dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of baked beef kabobs with meat, zucchini, pineapple, and peppers.  She also ate whole wheat toast and pineapple on the side. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  This made me laugh.  We "re-created" the scene and this is very close to how Nora and Svea were positioned when Nora said, "Hey Gary!"  Someone has a poopy butt!"  Oh, ok.  Thank you Nora!  I wonder who it might be!?!  Haha!  I only have 3 "diaper" kids at Little Treasures right now; Linnea is home with her Grandparents, Callahan is sleeping, so that leaves Svea.  Cracked me up.  Nora was very focused on her own baby she was holding!  If you look up Nora, you'll see suspect number one! Svea ate waffle and two servings of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate "whole 30" chili with meat, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, and tomato sauce.  She also ate tropical fruit, no whole wheat dinner roll. First picture: I was wanting Svea to show Lauralea how well she can get this chair rocking!!  Of course she wasn't about to show-off when I wanted her to!!  But I found the secret!!  I started singing: "Rock a bye Baby" and she was off and rocking like crazy!!  Ha!  Thank you Svea!! Svea ate two servings of French toast and ate strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of Shepherd's Pie with green beans, carrots, and potatoes.  She had a bite of whole wheat tortillas, and ate cherries. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon and Svea had not been awake from her nap for very long.  She went right over and sat beside Callahan, almost on him to be exact, and then thought it was funny when he was reaching for her.  She giggled and interacted with him for several minutes.  Every day this week so far she's been finding Callahan's burp cloth on the floor and she'll bring it to me.  Thank you Svea!  I love the extra help!!  Speaking of being a helper, She's also been helping picking up toys in the afternoon before we go outside.  She doesn't put them on the shelf; she brings the toy and hands it to me and goes for another toy. Svea ate bites of whole wheat English muffin and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of pork chop, bites of whole wheat toast, nibbled and poked at her beets, and bites of applesauce. First picture: As soon as Svea arrived she put on this mask and was looking at herself in the mirror.  Second picture: Then she was playing with her baby right beside Callahan.  Svea had her shoes on and while I was taking them off I said, "I don't want you to accidentally step on Callahan."  Svea looked at Callahan and said, "Hi."  Haha! I think these next two pictures are super cute.  Svea was watching Atley (Atley's head is bent over so far you can't see it, but you can see her hair!!) plop up and down on the push-n-spin toy.  The moment Atley moved off Svea mimicked exactly what Atley was doing.  And that's what we call "modeling." Svea ate whole wheat Chex cereal and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of ground beef, bite of whole wheat hamburger bun, bites of avocado, bite of tomatoes, and ate her oranges. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend, but Svea didn't care too much; just let me rock in my chair!!  She can really get this thing rocking!!  Notice Avi on the back side of the chair about to get bonked with the rocker!!  Speaking of Avi, you can't see it too well in this first picture, but you can in the second picture; she's wearing cowgirl boots.  That's what I called em.  Avi said, "NO!! Cowboy boots!!"  Haha!! These next two pictures go together!  Avi spotted Svea climbing onto the couch and immediately came over to give assistance.  Except Svea doesn't need assistance to get on the couch.  I thought the Second picture was very cute!!  Avi puts two blocks together to assist Svea with her dismount off the couch. ...

Svea ate some oatmeal and bites of cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two bites of tilapia, bites of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate green beans, and a couple bites of applesauce.   Svea had a fun morning and did some of her usual activities, except her sidekick Linnea is in Helena today.  In this first picture she had picked up the stacking cup and taken it to Callahan.  In typical fashion for her age she just dropped it on his chest and stood back to see what he did.  And this time it actually worked just fine!!  They really have no idea that it could have just as easily bounced off his forehead!!  :) Next picture: I was taking a picture of Svea in the mirror because she looked so cute just sitting in the chair occasionally making it rock.  Then she spotted me of course, but it's still cute.  She loves this chair - by herself or sharing it with others. Svea had a nibble of whole wheat bagel and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she had several bites of hamburger and sausage pizza with whole wheat pizza crust, tomato sauce, olives, pineapple, and peppers.  She ate a large serving of pineapple on the side as well. First picture: There is a bunny in the picture just to the left of Atley's head sitting on the edge of the road.  Earlier, it was right at the end of the fence in the driveway so I think Svea got a good look at it. Regardless, most importantly she was acting excited like everyone else.  Haha! This next picture is similar to what I posted yesterday when the "older" kids were doing preschool activities!  Linnea and Svea just continue to do their own thing like you see in the picture.  I'm not sure what game they were playing, but Linnea was handing stuffed animals to Svea and she was piling them up. Svea ate bites of whole wheat toast and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of pork roast, no whole wheat tortillas, bites of sweet potatoes, no carrots and ate a large serving of fruit salad. When Grandma Mary dropped off Svea the kids were at the gate talking to Mary and Atley asked, "Where's Mark?!?"  Haha!  Atley - Little Miss Social Girl knows everyone's names and wants to know why he's not where he is supposed to be!!
