Svea - 8/30/2019

Image
Svea ate oatmeal and bites of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, and tomatoes.  She also ate apricots and no whole wheat dinner roll. These first two pictures are left over from yesterday afternoon.  I was getting a kick out the static electricity on this climber and what it was doing to Svea's hair.  If you look close you'll see it was sticking out pretty good.  Second picture: If you could see and hear this in live mode these two cuties were laughing and having a grand time just trotting back-n-forth, up and down the sidewalk. Pictures from this morning;  Linnea asked for some water so of course Svea needed some too.  I like how Linnea is sitting with her heels touching.  Following picture: They'd laid their pillows down at the same time, but boy it was hard to catch them with their heads on their pillows at the same time!!  Constant movement!! ...

Svea ate French toast and no dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of pulled pork, no whole wheat toast, ate peas, and watermelon. Lauralea came in the house about 10:30 and the kids were all excited to see her.  Svea was saying, "Lor-lee, Lor-lee" very plain.  Nice job Svea. First picture: Initially it was just Linnea and Svea at the window driving their cars back-n-forth on the window sill.  Avilene said, "Gary, look what those people are doing!"  ("those people" - talking about Svea and Linnea.  Haha.)  I said, "They're just driving their cars and it's ok.  Avi said, "But it's hurting my ears!!"  LOL!!  She was half-way across the room!  That made me laugh.  So what did Avi do?  She went and joined them and did it much more vigorously than they'd been doing it.  Then Atley had to join them as well. Next picture: Linnea and Svea played near each other all morning again and this time they were d...

Svea ate half of whole wheat toast and two servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of ground beef mixed with marinara sauce served on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate most of cauliflower, and ate her fruit salad. Linnea is back at Daycare after being gone since the 16th.  Linnea and Svea played close to each other all morning!!  And I've got some pictures to back up that statement.  :)  There was only one time when Linnea wanted some space to be alone by herself; "No Svea, no!!  I'm pooping, I'm pooping, I'm poopiing!! :) First picture; They were playing with the food toys and as I was taking a picture Svea started digging for more goodies!! Next picture; They were pretty hilarious dinking around on the mattress and jumping off the climber. This age is so comical and interesting to me how they can play that close together - pretty much side-by-side, but never actually have any physical contact.  Well except for the occ...

Svea ate most of her breakfast: Whole wheat bagel and grapes.  For lunch she ate shrimp, brown rice, most of stir fry vegetables, and ate raspberries. I've been meaning to mention this to you, but I plan on starting Svea on a nap mat when Miles starts the first of October.  Really!  :)  Then he'll get to use her crib.  Yes that should be interesting, but she'll do just fine.  She's been looking at the nap mats and today she watched (from her high chair as she was finishing lunch) as Atley and then Nora went and laid down. Confession time - when I sat down to do the Blogs right now I just realized that I didn't take any more pictures of Svea this morning.  I knew I had three left over from yesterday so I wasn't too concerned.  Oh well, She did have a normal morning and was her usual cute self.  By the way, have you noticed how many words she's starting to say!?!  It's pretty constant now!!  Very cool Svea!! I took these three p...

Svea ate most of whole wheat bran cereal and most of raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her chicken, no whole wheat pita bread, most of avocado, bites of cucumbers, and ate pears. This first picture is left over from Friday afternoon.  It always cracks me up when the "older" kids try to talk the younger ones into giving them rides or whatever!  In this instance Nora wanted Svea to push her in the stroller.  "Can you push me Svea!?  Can you push me?!?"  Then once they started moving the demands get a little more strong and urgent; "push me Svea!!"  Haha!!  And Svea was trying and working hard! Next picture: We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and so everyone including Svea were very busy.  I peeked around the corner to see what she was doing so quietly - quietness is nice sometimes, but you never know what you'll see - and here's what I saw.  So cute.  Just stretching back in the cozy corner read...

Svea ate half of whole grain cream of wheat cereal and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she had a bite or two of baked beef kabobs with meat, peppers, pineapple, and zucchini.  She also ate brown rice and more pineapple on the side. I had an idea for Svea practicing more words.  "Hey Avilene, ask your Sister to say some words.  You can help her and be her teacher."  Seriously and not surprising to me, Svea said EVERY word Avi asked her to say!!  At least 20 words until Svea got tired of the game.  (Avi wasn't ready to stop!)  It started off hilarious like this: Avi said, "Say butterfly."  "Say binoculars."  "Hey Avi, she's just learning to say words so use very easy words."  And Avi totally got that concept and used mostly one syllable words and sometimes two syllables.  You're welcome!!  :) Here are some pictures from Svea's morning.  She likes hanging out with Callahan and interacting with him.  ...

Svea ate waffle and two servings of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shepherd's pie with meat, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, and green beans.  She ate a large serving of cherries and no whole wheat tortillas.  During Lunch the kids were watching the digital picture frame and when a picture of Linnea came on someone said, "Linnea."  Svea started grinning, got excited, and was saying "Naaa-uh, Naaa-uh!!" This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon as we were preparing to go outside.  We clean up the Daycare room and put toys away before we go out.  Svea's job was to put all the stuffed animals back onto the mattress.  And she did all of them with no help.  Nice work Svea!  It's fun to set them up for success so they can be proud when they accomplish a task! Next picture: Look at her posture and expression of concentration!  What are you guessing!?!  I'm thinking I may have to change a diaper in the...

Svea ate two servings of French toast and ate strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate "whole 30" chili with meat, peppers, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and tomato sauce.  (And lots of good spices!!)  The kids are really liking this meal and it's one of Lauralea and my favorites!!  I was feeding it to Svea and as soon as she swallowed a bite she'd lean forward with her mouth open ready for the next bite!!  She also ate tropical fruit and no whole wheat dinner roll. Svea had a good morning and played steady and was engaged most of the time.  Although I do think she misses having Linnea or someone to hang out with when the older ones do Preschool activities.  She moaned and whined a couple of times when they left her and went out to the preschool room and she's never done that before. Most of the time she and Linnea are so busy they don't notice or care. Here are some pictures from Svea's morning.  She was playing with the flashlight and the ...

Svea ate bites of whole wheat English muffin and most of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of pork chops, no whole wheat toast, no beets, and bites of applesauce. First picture: Svea was hanging out with Callahan and initially the pacifier in his mouth was the big attraction!!  Then she started pointing out her bruises to him.  Ha!  Second picture: Nora asked to feed him and Svea had to make sure she was doing it right.  I guess she was because he drank all of his bottle.  After Cal was done with his bottle Nora was patting his tummy and said, "I'm trying to burp him."  Haha! Next picture: As soon as Svea heard the girls ask if they could "do stickers," Svea was sprinting and pointing to the Preschool room.  I held the stickers paper for her and pealed back a corner and she does great with the rest.  It's impressive; lots of kids will grab and stick without even looking at their paper.  She was being very deliberate ...

Svea ate several bites of brown rice and ate her raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tilapia, half of whole wheat elbow noodles, half of green beans, and most of applesauce.  She wasn't eating much tilapia so I mixed it with the applesauce and she yelled, "no! no! no!"  Then she ate several bites.  :) First picture: Well these are the only two kids at Little Treasures today so it's been a quiet morning. Quiet by my standards - maybe not by other standards!!  Haha.  I put new ponytails in the girl's hair and that lasted for awhile and then all the jumping, rolling, and other craziness on the mattress started to show through!!  I Love this first picture. Speaking of jumping here's a picture of Svea landing a great jump!  Much better than the "face plants" she was landing earlier in the week.  She was also doing some great somersaults very methodical and purposefully!  Then she got all lined up to do another one, except she was ...

Svea had bites of whole wheat bagel and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of hamburger and sausage pizza with olives, pineapple, tomato sauce, and peppers.  She also ate more pineapple on the side, no whole wheat pizza crust. First picture: I took this picture shortly after Svea arrived and I thought it was so cute how these two were mimicking each other in play.  They both had basically the same food toys and I like how they positioned themselves - and the distance apart makes it even cuter.  Following picture: Svea joined us for drawing at Art time.  We also did some stickers and she did great with those.  I'd pull the edge off and she'd grab it and easily put it on her paper. I took this next picture because I liked how Svea and Linnea had positioned themselves close to Callahan.  Following picture outside; Again close to Callahan, but this time it's because of those irresistible baby toys that everyone...

Svea ate half of whole wheat toast and three servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bite of pork chop, no whole wheat tortillas, ate most of carrots, no potatoes, and ate a large serving of fruit salad. This note is about Avilene, but I'm gonna post it here because she doesn't have a Blog this week. Yesterday afternoon when we were outside Atley informed me; "Gary, if Avi gets stung by a bee I will tell you!"  Haha!  Ok thank you Atley.  I would probably never know otherwise!!  :) First picture - This is left over from yesterday afternoon, but I thought this was so cute how these two were sitting on the teeter-totter.  Haha!  Well that's not how people usually ride one of these, but they don't care about those details!! Next picture: I sent this picture to Momma Molly so she could see it in live mode.  How's this for perfect form off the diving board!?!  Except there's no water!  Haha!  She was doing some prett...

Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and most of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of chicken with stir fry vegetables (with pineapple added - yum).  She also ate brown rice and no oranges.  It's kind of a quiet morning around here this week - and - next week will be short on numbers too.  Nora is gone the rest of the week, Avi is doing morning dance class all week, Atley is leaving Friday and gone next week, and Linnea is gone all next week. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon and Linnea was trying to buckle the straps on the stroller.  Svea was trying to cooperate, but it was a difficult task!  :)  Not sure how adjusting the strap way down there is going to help keep Svea in the stroller.  Haha. Next picture: Lauralea was testing Linnea and Svea for their upcoming developmental assessments.  I can say with confidence that Svea's receptive language is doing just fine.  It was fun to watch h...
