Svea - 1/31/2020

Image
Svea ate brown rice and no raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate Alaskan salmon patty, whole wheat dinner roll, bites of cauliflower, and ate mangoes. This first picture is of the little goofball hanging on the changing table.  I laughed at her (again) and that was all the encouragement she needed.  :)  Following picture; this morning Svea was back at work with the big blocks; spreading them around the floor and then trying to balance and stand of them!!  And of course she was saying, "look at me, look at me." This is a quote from Avilene this morning, but it's partially about Svea so I'm gonna Post it here.  Avi said, "Hey Gary! Sometimes you say Svea is adorable."  Yes I do say that!  Avi continued, "Well my cat is adorable."  Haha!  Sorry, I see no correlation!! Next picture:  Right before I took the picture Cal had the legos piece in his right hand hovering suspiciously over Svea's head.  But he's listening ...

Svea ate most of whole wheat English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate some of everything: ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce. First picture: Svea has been all about playing with the blocks lately!!  This morning she asked, "Play blocks?  Play blocks?"  Yes, you can play with the blocks and you really don't need to ask, but it sure is cute!!  Much later I was putting a few away to clear out a path and she jumped right on that! "No, build tower! Build tower!"  Haha.  Ok.  The blocks she was standing on in the picture were kind of wobbly and she kind of likes that "uneasy feeling!"  She just grins like crazy!!  "Look at me!!" Next picture: She has found her favorite book in this toy exchange!!  It has the words "looky here" on every page.  (It's making reference to the color coming up on the next page.)  She kept pointing at it and saying, "Look-it h...

Svea ate French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of Paleo stew with meat, sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, and tomatoes.  She ate saltines, and a large serving of tropical fruit. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Svea was building towers and one of the times she was leaning into a tower and it tipped over.  She basically "rode" it to the floor.  She didn't yell or whimper, just got up and started to rebuild it.  Lately, every time she wants to play with the blocks she comes and asks for permission.  I tell her she doesn't have to ask, but it's SO cute!!  "Play blocks, play blocks, play blocks?!?" This next picture is just one I took at breakfast when she was acting like a silly goof.  Little cutie.   Following picture:  Linnea was watching Svea play with her baby and Svea was saying, It have ponytails, it have ponytails." Next picture...

Svea ate waffles and grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, no whole wheat tortillas, ate two servings of corn, and ate apple slices.  We ran out of time and didn't get to the baked cinnamon apples, so we had apple slices instead.  They nailed that immediately; "Hey! Why are we having it like this?"  They totally know what goes with every meal!!  Haha!! This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when the older kids were wearing masks.  Cal studied and studied them.  "Who and what are you!??!"  He was totally fine with it until Avi decided to do her wolf growl and I told her to chill out!!  He never cried, but he didn't like it either!! Avi is wearing the "Big Bad Wolf" mask and Svea has on a "Bear" mask from the "Three Little Bears" story. Next picture: Svea was in the cozy corner and had a big handful of food toys and was sampling each one in her mouth.  I'd rather she didn't put the toys ...

Svea ate kix cereal and bites of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, no whole wheat hamburger bun, bite of tomatoes, ate avocado, and ate cherries. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids all stayed very busy this morning. This first picture is left over from Friday afternoon right after nap and these three girls wanted to sit on my lap!  (I was looking in the mirror to take the picture.)  Avilene and Svea are looking at the selfie picture.   I can't tell what Atley is looking at! Next picture:  Hanging out with Linnea.  Everyone was glad to have Linnea back and the Daycare feeling normal again!  (Except this week Miles is hanging out with his Grandma for 3 days.)  Following picture: Hey this is a Developmental Milestone:  Svea counted the 5 small cars pointing at them and counting 1 to 1 correspondence.  First time I've seen her do that and she nailed it. Next two pictures -...

Svea ate oatmeal and three or four bites of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of hamburger stew with meat, tomatoes, green beans, and carrots.  Also, no whole wheat dinner roll and ate apricots. This first note is leftover from yesterday afternoon.  Atley said, "Linnea is not here."  Svea started saying something, but at first I couldn't understand her.  Then I realized she was saying, "Disneyland, Disneyland, Disneyland."  Over and over.  It was so cute and she was SO proud when I figured it out. Some of the kids were done with breakfast, including Svea, and were in the play room.  Svea was on the other side of the room and started crying.  Avilene said, "I think Callahan pulled her hair."  I said, "Well I doubt it considering he's sitting right here in his highchair and I'm still feeding him oatmeal.  Haha.  Avi got the cutest grin on her face.  In defense of Avi, that really wasn't a bad ...

Svea ate two servings of French toast and no dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of ground beef with marinara sauce on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate riced cauliflower, and her fruit salad.  Atley was done with breakfast when Svea arrived and while Svea was eating Atley asked her, "Hey Svea! How bout we do silly things after breakfast!?!"  (Again, same as yesterday.) First picture; Atley encouraged Svea to get lots of stuff before giving her a ride in the chair.  Svea already had her 4 dolls up there, but then they added lots of accessories.  In that pile are lots of doctor toys and some glasses which you can see in the the following picture.  Little Cutie. Next picture: I was preparing Miles' bottle and Atley asked, "Gary, will you snuggle me?"  So I told her I was fixing the baby bottle and to ask Svea if she will snuggle with you.  So Atley did and this is what it looked like.  They sat close to...

Svea had two bites of whole wheat toast and ate two large servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two large servings of pulled pork - or as she called it - "more chicken, more chicken," no whole wheat dinner roll, ate half of peas, and ate a large serving of strawberries. Svea kept repeating this 2 or 3 word phrase over and over and over.  I couldn't get it!  Sorry.  So she switched it up for me and said, "Sat on a wall, sat on a wall."  GOT IT!!  haha.  She'd obviously been saying, "Humpty Dumpty, Humpty Dumpty."  She had the biggest grin when I got it right.  She and I both felt pretty successful!! I think I've mentioned this before, but Svea calls Emily (Nora and Miles' Mommy) - " Embily. "  With the "B" sound.  Svea knows Emily comes to feed Miles at 4:00 every day and yesterday during snack time Svea was saying, "Embily come, Embily come."  Then this morning Miles started getting tired an...

Svea had no toasted whole wheat bagel and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shrimp, brown rice, bites of stir fry vegetables, and ate raspberries.  The first picture is from breakfast.  Callahan was done when Svea arrived and here she's teasing him with some grapes.  She'd hold her hand out with a grape and then when he'd reach, she'd yank her hand back.  And they'd both laugh.  :) This next picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Svea was jumping off here to the floor.  Dang, it's a much softer landing to jump on the mattress!!   I said, "You're gonna hurt yourself jumping off like that."  Svea said, "Ok, I hurt self jumping."  (She was basically parroting back what I'd said.)  Haha!!  Listen goofball, the idea is to NOT hurt yourself!!  :) Last two pictures:  Today the kids here are Atley, Svea, Cal, and Miles.  Atley and Svea did lots of running back and forth across the room. ...

Svea ate most of bran cereal and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, no whole wheat pita bread, ate some cucumbers, avocado, and pears. Svea made the most peaceful calm entrance imaginable this morning.  :)  Nice job Svea.  First picture: She headed right over to the cozy corner and started reading books and I had to remind her to go wave to Grandma at the window. Next picture; Svea had her babies all laying on the couch with her taking a little rest.  Notice in the lower right-hand corner Callahan's arm/hand coming into the picture.  Your peaceful siesta is about over Svea.  :)  Following picture:  She moved a couple of her babies to the yellow benches.  She said, "My baby, Gary.  My baby." Linnea is gone all week - to Disneyland.  Two year olds rarely ask about someone absent!!  Svea had a totally normal morning even though Avilene and Linnea are gone and Nora is here today.  Callahan pl...

Svea ate cream of wheat cereal (or as Atley called it; "I want more cream of  Weed !" Haha) and ate her dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate all of the chicken, broccoli, and riced cauliflower casserole. Also with green chiles and lots of yummy spices.  She didn't touch her whole wheat toast and she ate her pineapple. Once earlier this week I put the wrong bib on Svea and Linnea immediately said, "Wrong Bib!! Wrong Bib!!"  Thank you Linnea and I switched with Svea.  Every since then when I put a bib on Svea she says, "Wrong Bib!!  Wrong Bib!!"  Haha!!  Little goof.  Also from this morning I pretended to sit on her and she kept saying, "Squish me Gary, squish me."  "Squish me Gary, squish me." This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  It made me laugh with her glasses upside-down, sucking on her thumb, and if you zoom in you can see one eye looking past the sunglasses. Here are some pictures from thi...

Svea ate bites of waffles and ate cherries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of meatloaf, no whole wheat tortillas, ate sweet potatoes, and ate cherries. I use a couple of pillows (for my back) whenever we have Story Time.  Today as the kids were waiting for me to read Svea was getting my pillows arranged.  (Fluffing them for me!!  haha!)  The cutest part - she was saying, "Here you go Gary, here you go Gary, here you go Gary."  Thank you Svea; that's super sweet! This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Avi and Atley were building their "monster trucks" or a variation of that.  ("Monster Trucks," "Monster Cars," and Monster Truck Snowmobiles.") They wanted to show them to the Daycare kids and Svea and Linnea were very interested.  I think this is a cute picture and one of the benefits of mixing older and younger kids. This next picture is also left over from yesterday afternoon.  It was so cute how Sve...

Svea ate two servings of French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and spices.  She had no dinner roll and ate her pineapple/mango mix. This first picture is leftover from yesterday afternoon when Linnea and Svea were playing on the shelves or bunk bed as we call it.  :)  When I took this picture Linnea was patting Svea on her head and saying, "Go back to sleep baby, go back to sleep."  The second picture is also leftover from yesterday afternoon when there were 4 kids left; Atley and Avi were doing Preschool activities and Svea was running back and forth across the room playing with Cal and entertaining him.  If you could see this in "Live" mode; Svea running toward the window and Cal is headed toward the gate.  :)  They were both loving it and giggling. This next picture cracks me up!!!  These two were playing with the doctor toys and ...
