Svea - 4/302020

Image
Svea ate half of blueberry bagel and ate three servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of everything: pork roast, whole wheat dinner roll, slices of orange and red peppers, and pineapple. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon.  Avilene had a box elder bug captured and was showing the bug to the rest of the group.  Nothing more interesting outside than the stinking bugs.  Svea is in the bottom of the picture and they all have their hats on.  The warmest day of the year, lots of sunshine, and I told Avilene the only head covering I had left was a knit cap.  About 30 minutes of wearing that thing, longer than I thought she would, her head was sweating!! There are 5 puzzles in the next picture that Svea took all the pieces out of and made the pile you see in the middle upper-right of the picture.  So I was gonna do "before and after" pictures, but the "after" part never happened!!  Haha!! Last picture: H...

Svea ate half of whole wheat toast and ate two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of chicken - the menu called for pork roast, but I was late getting it ready - no whole wheat tortillas, ate half of carrots, and ate a large serving of fruit salad. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon when the kids were all chasing bubbles.  Svea usually just watches and then steps on whatever bubbles she finds on the ground.  They were having so much fun with the first bubble chase of the season!!  Look at Avi's face.  "I'm gonna catch me a bubble!" Next picture - Svea was "hiding" from me behind the changing table.  I just held the phone over the edge, she still couldn't' see me, and took the picture.  I love this picture.  Look at that happy face; having some good fun!! Next picture: Svea had the purses as usual and was adjusting this one when I took the picture.  Her play focus is so much different that what Avi's...

Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of chicken stir fry with meat and vegetables, bites of brown rice, and ate her mandarin oranges. The first two pictures are from yesterday afternoon.  I like to show afternoon pictures frequently because otherwise you're only seeing 2 - 3 hours of their day, depending on how early they arrive each morning.  First picture: Svea and Nora are under the blankets and this was right after nap yesterday.  Nora has been playing more with Svea recently, which is very nice.  I remember when Svea just started walking and she LOVED to get responses out of Nora. (That's a pretty easy task!)  Haha.  But now they're friends.  The 2nd picture - Svea was doing a solo test run on the airplane while Avi and Atley were pounding nails.  If you could see this picture in "live mode" you'd see the wind was gusting at times and the propeller and steering wheel ...

Svea ate cheerios and a bite of banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, bite of whole wheat pita bread, ate avocado, olives, and strawberries. This first picture is one left over from Friday afternoon just in case one of you missed the pictures of Jerry set up doing his "magic."  It was actually much better than I expected!  Svea really didn't have a clue what the heck he was doing out there, but she liked having something different to watch!! This was a pretty typical Monday morning!!  Lots of bantering and occasional bickering as they reestablish the pecking order!!  Ha!!  (Actually that's pretty true!!)  So I let them know who the Big Rooster is and then they start having 'memory recall' and fall into line.  Avi was pretending to be my baby and I was snuggling her on the couch.  Svea kept saying, "let my Sister go, let my Sister go." :) First picture:  Svea has her dolls, doll blankets, and purses and she's a hap...

Svea ate brown rice and bites of raisins for breakfast.  "Feed me Gary, feed me!!"  For lunch she ate two servings of salmon, half of whole wheat dinner roll, ate cauliflower, and mangoes.  "Feed me Gary, feed me!!"  :) This first picture is leftover from yesterday afternoon when the kids were playing hide-n-seek.  I've posted many pictures and comments about the way Toddlers and Pre-Schoolers play this game, but this may be a new one!!  4 kids were playing - 3 counting and preparing to search while 1 child (Atley) was hiding!  Haha.  All inside in the Daycare Room so it wasn't the most challenging hiding spot that needed 3 searchers.  :)  Love how Svea is face-down on the mattress with her hands covering her eyes. Next picture: "Gary!! Look at my purses!!"  Yes you have lots of purses.  She has 5 of them and actually left 2 behind!  So, just like I posted yesterday here's Svea right back with her purses.  She's...

Svea ate half of whole wheat English muffin and three servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, most of peas, and two servings of applesauce.  Again today at lunch she was saying, "Will you feed me Gary, will you feed me?"  Hey, it was a question instead of demand.  :)  Of course in her 2 year old brain it probably means the same thing!!  Haha.  I was busy and offered her a bite while I was standing up.  She said, "Please get chair Gary, please get chair."  So cute. Speaking of cute, check out this little cutie.  This is left over from yesterday afternoon when she wanted to wear this dress.  She said, "Gary, I want this on.  I want this on." Next picture: Have you seen any purse pictures this week!?!  Svea is obsessed with the purses and has played with them a LOT since "new toy Monday!"  It's a bit hard to count them all, but she has 7 purses in th...

Svea ate French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of paleo stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, tomatoes, carrots, and sweet potatoes.  She also ate saltines and tropical fruit. Svea had another great morning just like she always does!!  Seriously!!  She is a super busy little girl, easy to take care of, and I get a big kick out of her!!  She plays with lots of the same things over and over every day.  (Or at least during that toy exchange.)  In the first picture she has grabbed several purses and those were the first things she played with today.  In the second picture Svea is grabbing all the heart bracelets she can find.  (To fill up the purses!) Next picture; Svea was giving Nora a ride in the swivel/rocker chair, and receiving instruction from Avilene on the sideline!!  (That's who Svea and Nora are looking at!)  Last picture: Svea enjoyed doing dot p...

Svea had no waffles and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat tortillas, ate corn, and half of apple bites.  Last week and now this week Svea has been saying, "Feed me Gary, feed me" at meal times and I'm happy to help her when it's something difficult.  This morning it was grapes and waffles (no syrup for her) for breakfast - not difficult - "feed me Gary, feed me!"  Haha. These first two pictures are left over from yesterday afternoon.  She looked so cute and adorable in this dress!  And of course the "Vikings" shirt set it off nicely!  Ha.  She actually has some black shiny shoes on too, but you can't see them.  Second picture; Nora had left, but these three girls were having fun playing in the sand. I think it's interesting that Svea has not asked about Linnea, but she has asked about Callahan.  Several times.  That's very normal for this age group and we've seen it many times.  Maybe 2...

Svea ate a large serving of kix cereal and ate mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground turkey, whole wheat hamburger bun, avocado, tomato, and two servings of cherries. This first picture is left over from Friday afternoon when Svea was on the airplane by herself.  I love this piece of play equipment because a 2 year old can make it teeter-totter by herself.  It's really well built and very well balanced!  Of course it helps to be brilliant like Svea!!  :)  She was leaning one way and then the other!!  Good job Svea. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and everyone was super engaged all morning on "New Toy Monday!!"  As you can see by the pictures below Svea was busy with dolls and doll houses, dress-up clothes, and all those new books!!  She can disappear into her books for 45 minutes easily!!  That's a long stretch for a 2 year old.  (Please refer to the above paragraph about brilliancy!!) ...

Svea ate bites of oatmeal and bites of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of Hamburger Stew with meat, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, and potatoes.  She also ate whole wheat dinner roll, and apricots.  At lunch Svea said, "Feed me Gary."  I was busy going back-n-forth and giving her bites as well.  That's not what she wanted; "no, sit on chair."  As she was pointing at my stool and wanted me to sit in front of her like I frequently do. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when the kids were playing with those high-priced "noodles" from the Dollar Store.  Noodles - that's what the kids (including Svea) call them so that's good enough for me too!!  :) Next picture:  The 3 "big" girls were busy with Preschool activities and Miles was sleeping and it was totally quiet in the Daycare Room.  I always know where Svea is at so I poked the camera around the corner and she didn't even kno...

Svea ate three servings of French toast and ended up eating almost all of her dried plums for breakfast.  (Earlier, she had a bite of plum and said, "I don't like plums.  Yup, whatever.  Ha.)  For lunch she ate shrimp, bites of brown rice, bites of stir fry vegetables, and ate raspberries. Here's my conversation with Svea.  "Hey Svea, do you have a sister?"  "Yes."  "What's her name?"  "Avi."  "What is your other sister's name?"  "Uhhh...Avi."  "Do you have a brother?"  "Yes."  "What's his name?"  "Uhhh....Callahan."  Haha. First picture; I put the baby monitor there so I can watch it during breakfast.  Then I forgot about it being so accessible.  Until I heard Svea saying, "I'm just looking at it Gary.  I'm just looking at it."  Haha.  And she wasn't touching it.  :) Svea did all the work building with the blocks that you see in th...

Svea ate bites of whole wheat toast and ate two servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat elbow noodles (oops, cooked the wrong noodles last night- should have been spaghetti noodles -Svea ate a few of the noodles), two servings of cauliflower (Svea ate Avi's cauliflower for her second serving), and two servings of fruit salad. First picture; Svea was sitting beside me on the couch with a stack of books.  It was cute when she picked up this book.  She excitedly said, "Dr Seuss!!"  It's a small condensed version of his alphabet book.  I feel the same way Svea when I read Dr Seuss.  Even after the 947th time of that one book.  :) The next three pictures are all basically taken within 45 minutes of each other.  But all 4 girls played in and around the swivel/rocker chair for probably an hour.  So I thought this first picture could be labeled "Twins."  Sucking thumb twins. ...

Svea - 4/14/2020

Image
Svea ate most of blueberry bagel and she ate three servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pulled pork, no whole wheat toast, ate peas, and strawberries. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon and Avi was building with the outside wooden blocks and pieces.  Svea joined her and built some of her own structures.  (Under the watchful eye of sister Avi.) Second picture is also from yesterday.  Nora is in the stroller while Svea tries to push her down the sidewalk.  (It's kind of hard for the young ones like Svea to keep it in a straight line.) Next picture: Svea was watching Lauralea down the hall from her breakfast highchair and kept saying, "What are you doing Lauralea?"  "What are you doing Lauralea?"  So after breakfast I told her she could go down and watch Lauralea and Svea did; for probably at least 15 minutes. Last picture; Svea had one of the doll blankets wrapped around herself like a shawl about the same time ...
