Svea - 06/27/2022

Svea ate cheerios and no banana serving for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground beef with a serving of avocado on top, ate bites of whole wheat pita bread, ate olives, and watermelon. Svea and Miles were playing this morning and Svea randomly said, "Hey Gary, Miles and I are going to change our names." Oh really? What will your new name be? She said, "We have to decide." Ok, so I figured that was the end of the story. Nope, about 20 minutes later they both came to where I was at and Svea said, "We've decided our names. I am Rose. And Miles is Bricks." Haha. Ok, I'll try to remember. Later Miles - or Bricks - was terrorizing Svea, also know as Rose. I said, "Miles you are being a twerp." He said, "I know that!!" LOL. First picture; Everyone was done with breakfast except for Miles and he continued to eat. Svea and Avi were working on an Art project and Miles yelled, "Hey!! I'm still eating." Avi said, "That...

Svea ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her salmon, bites of whole wheat dinner roll, bites of cauliflower, and ate all her watermelon. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon. Avi had her soccer ball and was rolling it down the slide into the tunnel. And then following it through on her tummy. Atley and Svea were waiting for their turn. :) Next picture; So the kids were having fun playing "Dead Man" game. Atley and Svea were running around and around chanting, "Dead man dead man, come alive. On the count of number five. 1 2 3 4 5, come alive!! Dead man dead man come alive....." Not sure how this ends because they just continue to lay there! Haha! Last two pictures: Today's adventure was back to the irrigation ditch with Avi giving Svea and Cal a ride in the wagon. What are the kids looking at? There was a friendly, but barking dog to the right of the picture. Last picture: The kids watching for flowers - that th...

Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and three servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. She did not eat any Lunch: ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce. And of course now she's complaining about the possibility of starvation. Ha. Actually, she rarely complains when she refuses to eat, but she thinking about snacks.  So we're off on another adventure!! They chose to go to Cold Springs School playground this morning. So we happened upon some sprinklers! Cheers!! And we took advantage of them on the way back home after getting heated-up at the playground!! Ha! They were laughing and squealing and apparently thought it was wonderful. :) Next picture; Here are the two kids going tandem down the slide. There is another bigger slide, but there were several thistles directly at the bottom of it and I had no gloves to pull them out! However, they were happy and satisfied with Plan B. Following picture: Svea yelled to me; "Hey Gary!! I like closing my eyes ...

Svea ate French toast covered and ate her strawberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. She also ate saltines and two servings of Mangoes. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon so you can see who's here. Atley and Avi have been joining Cal and Svea. Atley has tennis lessons this week and next. Avi is at a soccer camp this week and next. They were all playing with flashlights and asked me to turn off the lights. (It didn't really help - too bright, but we're thankful to see some sun!!) Next picture; Svea and Cal were playing with the cars and airplanes. Following picture: Svea making a bracelet. These beads have pretty big holes which makes it much nicer for beading! Svea made a very colorful and beautiful bracelet.  Next picture: They wanted to go on another walk today. (We've been loving the nice weather so we can go walking and exploring.) Svea as...

Svea ate a bite of waffle and ate a large serving of "candy grapes" for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of her chicken, ate whole wheat tortillas, bites of corn, and no apple bites. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon and I was impressed because she was making her own "follow the dots" pattern. Svea is a very creative little girl. Second picture: I couldn't see what they were looking at, but I heard Svea telling Cal, "Those are not ears; those are horns." :) Next picture: We're heading for the irrigation ditch again to see what there is to see!! :) Notice they're both wearing "pads" on their legs. Cal was pretty certain they would "keep me from falling." Haha. Uhh...mmm, no, but they might protect your legs when you DO fall!! :) Second picture: Svea initially said, "Weeds are dandelions." Then she said, "Cal, these are weeds." Cal said, "No, those are dandelions." Svea sai...

Svea ate kix cereal and a few bites of fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch she ate Ground Turkey topped with avocado, toasted whole wheat sandwich thin, ate tomatoes, and ate three large servings of cherries. Just an FYI, Nora and Miles are with Grandparents all week. First picture is from breakfast. Every time we have kix cereal Svea makes a "flower" with them in her spoon. Later she told me she could see a "horse with a rider" in the bowl of kix. Sure enough, I could see it too! :) Moments later she saw "people singing." Sorry, I don't see that one!! Haha. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend. Svea and Cal were playing with the Doctor toys and right before I took this picture Dr Nelson had informed her patient that the "shot might hurt." And Cal was fleeing the scene! Haha. Next picture: Heading to the irrigation ditch to see if we can spot some water skippers. Right before I took this picture Cal said, "Gary can we...

Svea ate several bites of oatmeal and no apple pieces for breakfast. For lunch she ate none of her Hamburger Stew with meat, potatoes, carrots, green beans, and tomatoes. She ate bites of whole wheat dinner roll and bites of her fruit cocktail. First picture: Svea found a picture she wanted to color!! That definitely looks like a picture Svea would choose, right??!! The bottom says; "Created By;" and I love the signature!! She did SVEA perfectly and then the rest is super cute. Second picture: Heading to "Cold Springs School Playground." Atley insisted on taking the wagon so she could pull it. After playing and getting all heated-up she wasn't nearly as enthusiastic on the return trip!! Ha. When I took the picture you can see that Svea was examining a piece of her hair and also asking me, "Why is my hair so dry!?" Hahaha. Next picture; Svea was throwing pine cones and it kind of took me by surprise. I haven't seen her throw for a long time - I don...

Svea ate most of her French toast and ate all her dried plums for breakfast. For lunch she ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, peas, and two servings of strawberries.  First picture: Atley was looking at this book and Svea was playing the "Bop It" game, but was becoming more interested in the book all the time. (Avi's not seen the Bop It game, but I think she'll love it because it's based on speed.) It's telling you to "pull it" "bop it" or "twist it" and it all happens quickly. And of course, when you're too slow, it taunts you for being a "novice." Svea got a score of 8 which is pretty impressive for her age!! Next two pictures: Ok, forget the "Bop It" game this is a pretty cool book. This is a "coffee table" book put together and self-published by a friend of mine. It's full of beautiful pictures and descriptions of flora and fauna of the Peace River Valley country of Central Alberta. (Her ...

Svea chose not to eat breakfast:  cream of wheat cereal and dried plums. For lunch she ate chicken, ate whole wheat toast, most of her broccoli, and even ate half of her pineapple. So here's a Tidbit Cal randomly offered us at Lunch Time: "If you tip over and keep your mouth open then you won't gargle." Svea asked, "What does that mean!?!?" Sorry Svea I can't help you because I have NO idea. Haha. Speaking of random things, this morning Svea said, "You know how Santa has a Naughty List?" I said, "Yes. Are you on the list?" She got very serious and actually took several moments to ponder the question. She then replied; "I don't think so." It was SO very sweet and cute! Next three pictures: The kids were itching to get outside so we went out even though it was drizzling all morning. In this next picture they were deciding that it really  might  be raining!! Second picture: While we were standing there trying to determine ...

Svea ate bite of blueberry waffle and ate fruit salad for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground turkey, whole wheat tortillas, sweet potatoes, and two servings of cherries. This is about Cal, not Svea, but I thought you might like it: I moved the changing table to a different corner in the Daycare Room. Cal asked me what I was doing. (The background of this story is the fact that Miles is no longer in diapers. Cheers!! No diaper kids!) I said, "I'm keeping the Changing Table in the room  JUST IN CASE HE  he has an accident." Cal asked, "Who is Casey?" Huh! What? Then I got it!! Hint: Say "Just in case he" fast. Haha. First picture is left over from yesterday afternoon. Svea was happy to see that Atley was here and they were having fun at the Doll House. The boys were positioned like Sentinels guarding the place. Ha! Second picture: Nice to have you back today Svea and the boys were happy to see her as well. So here we have the unveiling and disclosure of...
