Svea's Journal

Svea ate oatmeal and baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of hamburger stew with meat, carrots, tomatoes, and green beans.  She had bites of whole wheat dinner roll and ate her apricots. Svea had a busy morning like she always does.  First picture: I think she likes the new arrangement I'm using for the shortest kids to see out the window!!  Actually, it was the big girls who started standing on the back of the benches and Svea caught right on!!  Following picture: Svea crawled into the swivel/rocker and Linnea knew just what to do!!  Spin that chair round and around; much to Svea's delight!! Svea ate two servings of French toast and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate some ground beef with marinara sauce, some whole wheat spaghetti noodles, bite of cauliflower, and ate some fruit salad. Svea was doing some experimenting this morning and ended up "walking" all around the Daycare Room on her knees.  (Not hands and knees, just knees.)  It reminded me of a little guy we had that was fearful to turn loose and start walking.  He "walked" on his knees from the patio outside to the entrance gate.  Ouch! We also did a "fire drill" this morning with Lauralea's help.  It was a chance to go outside across the wet (from dew) lawn in their bare feet. Svea ate whole wheat toast and two servings of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of pulled pork, no whole wheat dinner roll, ate peas, and strawberries. This first picture cracks me up!  It's also slightly creepy, but still it's funny!!  I asked all the kids if there was anything funny about this picture and they all said "no."  So I told Avilene that her sister looks like a "pirate" and the light went on!  Avi said, "She DOES look like a pirate!!"  Haha!  You can zoom in on this picture, but you still can't see Svea's left leg! Svea ate whole wheat bagel and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shrimp, brown rice, couple bites of stir fry vegetables, and ate raspberries. Svea had a great morning as did all of the kids.  Everyone was happy to be back and we had lots of fun.  She is such a busy little girl; just chugging around all morning and staying super busy.  She was so cute when she saw Lauralea.  She was waving even though Lauralea hadn't seen her yet.  SO cute. And then of course she had to start showing-off and "high-stepping" back and forth across the mattress!! Svea ate whole wheat bran cereal and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of baked beef kabobs with meat, zucchini, pineapple, and peppers.  She also ate brown rice and pineapple on the side. First picture: I'd gotten Svea's hair damp and then combed her hair and had it all pretty.  She just couldn't wait to start rubbing her hair and make it go crazy!!  Silly Svea!  Also, I like how one foot is headed North and the other foot is headed East!!  :) What's the conversation in this second picture?!?  If you think Nora looks disgruntled you're correct. She was repeating in rapid fire mode: "Help me Gary!  Help me Gary!  Help me Gary!!"  Getting a reaction out of someone is a huge motivator for some children and boy does Nora ever react!!  Svea wasn't doing anything very aggressive and Nora just wanted her out of her space.  But the more Nora reacted the more Svea pestered her! Svea ate two servings of waffles and a large serving of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shepherd's pie with meat, green beans, carrots, and potatoes.  She also ate her cherries and no whole wheat tortilla.  When I offered her the shepherd's pie she whipped her head back-n-forth, but I saw an opening and slipped a little in!  She tasted it, ate it, and then ate almost the entire serving. First picture: Svea is becoming quite demonstrative when waving bye and also saying "bye" to most of the parents.  She was saying bye to Lauralea when I took this picture.  In the second picture she was bouncing with Linnea and Atley and watching Avi across the room.  Not sure what Avi was doing but she had their attention. Svea ate two servings of French toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate "Whole 30 chili" with meat, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and peppers.  She did not have a bite of her whole wheat dinner roll, and she ate tropical fruit. The first picture: This is basically a morning ritual!  Avi gets lots of exercise and Svea gets a ride!!  Avi adds to the routine with occasional skipping and jumping while running in circles.  It's quite entertaining!  Atley wanted to ride beside Svea so Avi stopped and let her climb aboard.  Avi told Svea to slide over and make room for Ately.  Svea scooted, wiggled, turned around three or four times and settled back into the exact same spot!  Haha!  Well at least you were trying Svea!! Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and three servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of pork chop, bites of whole wheat toast, taste of beets, and bites of applesauce. First picture: Atley's Momma Megan, Atley, and Linnea frequently do a "girls hug" in the morning. Well today Avi and Svea were here early enough to be a part of it.  Avi of course was all over that!  Svea, on the other hand, was more than happy to just watch!  :)  Svea had several invitations, but that's as close as she got.  Do you see Linnea?  Kind of squished on the right side. Svea ate whole wheat Chex cereal and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of ground beef, no whole wheat hamburger bun, bites of cucumber, and ate her oranges. NOTICE:  I just want to remind everyone that Little Treasures will be closed  Monday the 27th  for Memorial Day!  (That's next Monday!)  And I may as well start reminding you now of the following closure dates: Those will be my yearly days off in Summer.   July 4 - July 12  this year.  (July 4 is on a Thursday.) We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and like always the kids were engaged and busy all morning.  Svea was playing with the xylophone and watched the older kids turn it over and run their sticks back and forth over the "ribs" in the oval on the back side.  It's makes LOTS more noise so that makes it way more fun!  :)  Svea was pretty proud of herself judging by the big grin on her face when she looked up at me. ...

Svea ate oatmeal and bites of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger and sausage pizza with whole wheat pizza crust, meat, olives, pineapple, peppers, and tomato sauce.  She also ate pineapple on the side. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon; I hadn't taken off Svea's pajamas yet!  Ha!  Actually these three had just awoke from their naps and Linnea had jingle bells to entertain Callahan.  Svea was like "forget the jingle bells, I'll entertain him with my foot!!"  Ha!  She was not being rough with her foot, just touching him and it was over. These first two pictures are from yesterday afternoon.  Svea and Baby Callahan were the only two kids awake and Svea actually got on the floor with him like you see in the picture.  She doesn't do this often, actually this is probably the first time I've seen it.  She likes him, but she's too busy to just lay with him.  (This is how Nora plays with him.) Svea ate bites of whole wheat toast and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she had a bite  or taste of pork roast, bites of whole wheat tortillas, ate half of her carrots, and two servings of fruit salad.   These first three pictures are actually leftover from yesterday afternoon.  First one.  Atley had pulled up her pant leg to show Svea her bandaid.  "See my bandaid Svea."  Haha!  Then Linnea immediately joined them to have a look too!  Linnea asked her - "happened?"  Atley said, "I fell down on the sidewalk.  You can touch it if you want too."  LOL.  Linnea didn't respond and Svea seemed satisfied to just take pictures with her cell phone!  :) Next picture: If you zoom in on Svea's face you'll see a big grin.  She was loving this for a few seconds!!  :)  Following picture:  She thought she was being pretty hilarious standing up in the ice cream cart.  And it was all f...

Svea ate half of whole wheat English muffin and no dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of chicken, several bites of brown rice, ate stir fry vegetables, and ate her oranges. Well for some reason the pictures from this morning are not uploading to the computer so we'll have to go without pics for today!!  Which kind of sucks because my notes are directly related to the pictures.  Anyhow, Svea picked up one of the battery powered cars and hit a button which activated the wheels and horn.  She started poking around at it to replicate what had just happened! I also had a picture of her talking on her phone; an old fashioned flip phone.  She packed that thing around for probably 20 minutes.  She also spent time trying to push Callahan around in the stroller. She had him shoved up against the wall, but was still trying to make more progress.  Uhhh, you've come to the end of that road Sweetie! Svea was pretty fussy this morning. ...

Svea ate cheerios and bite of banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of ground beef, no whole wheat pita bread, half of olives, bite of tomato, bites of avocado, and ate strawberries.   I took this first picture shortly after Svea arrived and she was immediately busy at work with the cars beside Linnea.  Svea had a pretty normal morning, fussed a bit a couple of times, but was easily consoled.  She's beginning to understand language more and more.  It's so cute and I love this stage!! These pictures of Svea giving goodbye loves to Lauralea and then waving "bye" and "si si" (which translated means "I love you sign" are simply adorable!!  She just speaks in a shortened version of English!!  :)  Svea runs across the floor to tell Lauralea "bye" now and to hug her leg.  Lauralea Loves it and it's adorable!!
