Svea's Journal

Svea ate a large serving of cheerios and a few bites of banana for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground beef topped with avocado, whole wheat pita bread, olives, and a large serving of peaches. First picture; We did a toy exchange this weekend and Svea and Cal were wearing some dress-up clothes. Svea kept that dress and those shoes on all morning. Cal (and Miles) were super excited to have Svea back today. The first thing Cal said when he came through the door this morning; "Vay Vay coming!?!" Next picture; Well Svea is back so things are gonna be a little more organized than last week!! Haha. She has all the food laid out in a certain order and sternly lets the boys know to NOT mess with it until she gives some mysterious unknown signal. Ha. Svea said, "We are going on a camping adventure!" I said, "Well that's a great plan." Svea ate oatmeal and no applesauce for breakfast. For lunch she ate bites of Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, spices, and tomato sauce. She ate whole wheat dinner roll, and bites of fruit cocktail. Svea was showing me her pretty dress during breakfast. She said, "I'll show you which ones - beautiful princesses - that I like." She started pointing; "This one, this one, this one, this one, and this one." Haha. She also showed Lauralea and asked which was Lauralea's favorite. I like this first picture: It's left over from yesterday afternoon. Momma Molly knows what this is, but if you were just guessing from the picture I don't think I'd guess a "balloon." Svea had it sitting on a bowl with another bowl for a hat, topped off with an ice cream cone. She said, "Hey Gary! It's a balloon ice cream man!" I love your creative little mind Svea. Svea ate French toast (a new French toast casserole) and ate dried plums for breakfast. For lunch she ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, ate peas, and two servings of mandarin oranges.  First picture: Svea frequently brings a bag of goodies from home and Miles was pretty excited to see what she had today! When she started pouring it out he said, " WHOA !!" :) Second picture: As soon as Miles was done looking at the goodies he said, "Me Doll House! Me Doll House! Me Doll House!" Svea said, "I will join you." Oh, that was sweet Svea. This picture was taken a few minutes later because the first thing Mile did was head for the Doll House Door Bell. :) Next two pictures: Svea asked for the play dough and Miles was all over that too! "Me Play Dough!? Me Play Dough!?" :) Lauralea couldn't believe how long Miles and Svea worked with the play dough. She came out of her office and said, "Wow, they've been doing that for an hour." Svea ate a bite of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast. For lunch she ate bites of ground beef with marinara sauce on top of spaghetti noodles, bites of cauliflower, and ate her fruit salad. Svea was encouraging (maybe somewhat demanding - ha) Miles to run in circles on the mattress while Svea cheered him on! She was yelling, "Kick the ball quick! Kick the ball quick!" Then she added, "You're the Vikings (Dad's Team) and I'm the Unicorn!" LOL First picture: I sent a video of Svea and Miles playing in their "cave" and they were laughing wildly about "pooping and peeing." They wanted to watch the video about 87 times. Then I heard Svea telling Miles a "joke." "What happens when the chick crosses the road?" Miles; No answer. Svea; "It poops." Hilarious laughter! Silly kids. Svea chose not to eat any breakfast; blueberry bagel and grapes. For lunch she ate brown rice covered with berry juice. No shrimp, broccoli, or mixed berries.  Well as you all know by now Cal is not here today and will be out for the week. It was pretty quiet around here this morning, but Svea was doing her usual setting up the food. She and Miles get along just fine, but he doesn't play "with" Svea the way that Cal does. He's a bit more of a threat to just "steal" her food!! Haha. If you look closely at the last picture you'll see she's jumping and Miles is sitting on the counter raiding the food supply and Svea is kind of possessive about her food supply!! Svea chose not to eat breakfast: bran cereal and raisins. For lunch she ate chicken topped with avocado, ate whole wheat pita bread, ate cucumbers, and no pears.   First picture; You can see Nora's doll directly in front of Svea. Apparently it was the doll's birthday because Nora and Svea were having a birthday party for the "no name" doll. (I like how the ice cream is piled high on the cake!) I kept asking Nora "what's his name?!?" Nora; "It's not a boy! It's a girl." Me; "Oh, but he's such a nice baby." :) Next two pictures: I had to go pick out glasses today so Lauralea showed the girls how to cut out snowflakes while I was gone. They colored the large coffee filters, cut them out, and then when I came back I sprayed them all with water. So far today Svea hasn't eaten anything. Breakfast: cream of wheat cereal and dried plums.  Lunch: chicken, brown rice, broccoli, pineapple.  Just in case y'all keep hearing Christmas Songs from the kids - we're still doing Christmas songs. It started with Miles wanting to keep doing "Frosty the Snowman." So yesterday afternoon all of us went above the garage and got the Frosty book - along with more Christmas books I'd put away for the season. Then this morning -  while doing Christmas books - Svea asked about "Twelve Days of Christmas." So back up the stairs I went for that one and others!! Haha. Svea ate waffle and strawberry/mango for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground turkey, whole wheat tortillas, no green beans, and ate her cherries.   First two pictures: Svea brought a floor puzzle from home - 41 pieces - and it really is a fun, but challenging puzzle!! The boys wanted to be there, but Cal almost immediately said, "I don't wanna play" and he left. Ha. Look how interested Miles seems to be in the puzzle. Haha. However, Miles did watch for a long time. I put in a picture of the finished puzzle and it was pretty challenging for Svea and I to complete!! Next picture: I gave Miles a chance at the Doll House play, but Svea and Cal do this "Delivery Game" and Miles didn't grasp what the heck they were doing!! Svea chose not to eat breakfast: French toast and strawberries. For lunch she ate half of Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and lots of spices. She ate whole wheat dinner roll and bites of mango/pineapple.  First picture: Svea arrived and immediately rounded up all the phones and had Cal sit down and gave him a phone too. Then she proceeded to give him specific instructions on how his day was gonna proceed!! "You're gonna do this, this, this, and this!" I couldn't hear the details, but it cracked me up! Cal just sat there looking at her. :)  (Just nod yes Cal, just nod yes!!) Maybe luckily for Callahan things changed when Nora arrived!! Haha. Svea had Nora all the herself and that seemed to suit her just fine. However, it's different because when it's just Svea and the boys, Svea RUNS the show all by herself. Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate pork roast, whole wheat toast, beets and several bites of applesauce. At breakfast we were talking about the Nelson Kitty - Vera - and I told Svea that Lauralea has an aunt named Vera. "Aunt Vera." Svea said, "Are you really NOT joking!?!?"  Haha. She knows her Gary!! True, for once I'm not joking. :) First two pictures: This first one is from yesterday afternoon beside the Doll House. Second picture: they were back there again this morning and Cal is the one who wanted to go there first. Svea is very creative and comes up with scenarios that have LOTS of moving parts. For the most part Cal goes along with it and frequently adds to it. In the first picture Svea was saying something like this: "The Dad is over there, the Unicorn Mom is here, and the Unicorn babies are here. Svea chose not to eat any breakfast: corn chex cereal and peaches. For lunch she ate a large serving of ground beef covered with a large serving of avocado, she ate whole wheat sandwich thin, tomatoes, and no mixed berries. (She loves tomatoes and always eats those first.) We did a toy, puzzle, and book exchange this weekend and the kids were super engaged all morning. Cal and Svea are the only ones here today and they were so wrapped up in the Daycare Room that they didn't even check out the Preschool Room! Svea is checking out Preschool Activities while Cal is napping. My role this morning was pretty much limited to observation. I love to see them that busy playing, exploring, role-playing, and learning about the world around them. These first two pictures were taken just a few minutes apart. Svea loves to organize all the food toys - and sometimes ALL the toys - on the step and in front of the gate. It usually involves having a party and today they were having a Birthday Party. ...

Svea ate kix cereal and dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate no pork roast, ate whole wheat tortilla, no carrots, and ate mango/strawberries.  Cal and Svea were looking at my hand and Cal said, "What's that!?" "That would be the scar from my bike wreck." Cal asked, "When did you get your bike wreck; today or tomorrow?" So I asked them, "When do you think it was?" Cal said, "Tomorrow." Svea said, "Tomorrow." Then Svea added, "You said scar, like scarf." Yup that's right! More humor: (Haha.) Cal said, "I want to read books." Svea said, "I want to read Halloween books." I said, "I don't know if I even have any Halloween books." Svea said, "Yes you do - like the first day of Christmas my true love said to me me." OH!!! those Halloween Books!!
