Svea ate brown rice and noraisins for breakfast. For lunch she ate salmon, whole wheat dinner roll, bite of cauliflower, and ate her mangoes.  So before Lunch the kids were asking "what we gonna have?" I told them and then asked, "Does anyone know what is a  salmon ?" Their answers were hilarious and all different. Svea: "From a horse." Ewww... ..no. Cal; "A vegetable." No. Miles; "A strawberry." Haha. Nope. So when I told them a "fish" they claimed to already know that of course. LOL. First two pictures left over from yesterday afternoon. She's posing with her lipstick. Little cutie. I showed this to Miles this morning and he said, "That's so cute." Love. Second picture: Also from yesterday, Svea and Nora were having fun under the umbrella. They had fun playing together all the time Nora was here. Next two pictures: Svea applying some make-up she brought in her surprise bag from home. She asked the boys, ...

Svea ate toasted whole wheat English muffin and two servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, ate most of her peas, and half of her applesauce. First picture: I took this shortly after arrival and she's trying to talk to us, but it's hard when she's so impressed with what she's seeing in the mirror. Haha. SO cute. I love this kid!! She makes me laugh a lot. Second picture: Svea usually washes in the bathroom now, but will also opt for the kitchen. However, she's getting SO big for the kitchen sink. Haha. She said, "I'm just too big for this; I can't even reach the water!!" (Meaning; she's gonna have to bend DOWN to reach the water.) Next picture: Svea was showing Cal the goodies she brought from home today and this microscope was a special one. Svea said, "I have something in here that can talk to you Cal." And sure enough, it could. Next picture: We had fun ou...

Svea ate no French toast and ate half of her Strawberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, green beans, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and peppers. She ate two servings of saltines, and ate mangoes. At breakfast time Svea was telling me about a "Tree named Gus" and I think I've heard you guys talk about that before? I asked Svea where it was located. Hahaha. "Far from here." Far from Seely." and "Far from Augusta." :) Well that narrows it right down for me.  First picture: This made me laugh! You can probably guess what Miles is saying!! Here it is: "I got you Svea!!" Haha. Whatever Miles, I think you may be about to get plowed over!! Very cute. Next picture: What is this about? I'll give you a hint: Svea was sharing her morning snack with the boys again. This time it was Pirate Booty and they snarfed it down. Did you guess! Answer: Licking up the crumbs from Pirate Booty. :) Follow...

Svea ate most of her waffle and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her chicken, some whole wheat tortilla, most of her corn, and no apples slices. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon. Svea worked at putting these Star Pieces together while the boys were sleeping. I'm impressed with how well she keeps herself busy during the alone time and how well she self-entertains. I'm available and sitting nearby doing the Blogs and she'll occasionally come and ask me questions. However, the majority of the time she gets very involved into whatever interests her at that moment. In the picture below, Cal had just awoke from his nap and Svea immediately started describing her Stars to him. He's not awake enough yet for this Svea. Haha. Next picture: Svea brought Goldfish again for the kid's morning snack. They all love the Goldfish and she mostly does a very good job of sharing. (Once in a while I have to intervene.) One day Svea brought ...

Svea ate kix cereal and no fruit cocktail for breakfast. For lunch she ate a large serving of ground turkey topped with avocado, ate toasted whole wheat sandwich thin, tomatoes, and two servings of cherries. First picture: Svea had showed Cal everything in her Morning Bag and it held lots of books. They looked at several of them and then we read them at Story Time. When I took the picture this was the conversation; Svea said, "Which one do you like?" Cal was pointing and said, "I like these over here." She immediately corrected him, "You can only pick one!" Ha. (Which ONE do you like; not ONES.) Boy Cal, you gotta pay close attention so you don't get in trouble with Teacher Svea! Next picture: The kids saw Micala drive up to the window and they're waiting behind the door for Micala, Nicole, and baby Paisley to come in. It was nice to see them and know they seem to be thriving; not just surviving. (They came to Missoula for a Baby check up.) Followi...

Svea ate Cheerios and no applesauce for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her ground beef, most of her whole wheat dinner roll, no green beans, ate most of her fruit cocktail. During Lunch Svea was dinking around and making Miles laugh. I finally told her that was plenty and they needed to eat. Of course she did it again and Miles roared.  THEN  he tattled on her. That made me laugh; so then we're all laughing! :) Here's a picture of Avi, not Svea, left over from yesterday afternoon that I found highly amusing and adorable. Adorable because Avi loves Miles and shows him WAY more patience than she shows anyone else around here!! Ha. So she decided he needed to learn to play Tic-Tac-Toe. The amusing part was watching Miles spend way more time putting the circles (rings) on his fingers. Haha. Then he heard a helicopter - he yelled, "helicopter" - and sprinted for the window. Avi's reaction was so cute; She rolled her eyes and said, "Miles!!" But she was ...

Svea chose not to eat breakfast: French toast and dried plums. for breakfast. For lunch she ate pulled pork, ate whole wheat toast, peas, and two large servings of strawberries. This first picture is one left over from yesterday afternoon when I was sitting in the chair in front of the mirror and of course Svea was watching herself in the mirror and I was taking pictures. She was saying silly things and we were having fun. Next picture: Svea hid some Easter eggs for Miles and in the picture she is watching him "find" some eggs. Her "clues" for him are hilarious. "Ok, lift up the pillow and look under here." "Bend over and look into there." She hid 21 eggs and he was tired of this game after about 7 eggs. Haha. And she couldn't remember where she put two of them, but they ended up finding them all! Next picture: Svea was starting to fix some beds here and the boys got on the bottom shelf. Svea told me, "We're pretending this is our bu...

Svea ate half of her whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her ground beef with marinara sauce on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, no riced cauliflower, and ate a large serving of fruit salad. We'd read/sang "Farmer in the Dell" during Story Time and right after Lunch the kids were interchanging words and subjects in the different verses and then laughing their heads off. I thought it was quite hilarious and entertaining as well!! Maybe one of Cal's verses was my favorite: "The Rat takes a Wife, the Rat takes a Wife, Hi-Ho the derry-O, the Rat takes a Wife." Haha. Good job kids. First picture: The kids had a morning snack with the Goldfish that Svea brought with her. She loves to share these with the boys, but I think she also (really) likes to be in control of passing them out!! :) Thank you for sharing Svea. Next two pictures: This was a highly entertaining activity this morning. I asked the boy's families perm...

Svea chose not to eat breakfast: blueberry bagel and grapes. For lunch she ate no shrimp, she ate a large serving of brown rice covered with mixed berry juice, bites of broccoli, and no mixed berries.  Lunch conversation: Svea said to me; "We're pretending this is our airplane and this is the dining room and that is the play room." Ok. She continued; "We're going to California. There are lots of toys and slides." She thought about that and then asked me; "Is California real!!" I couldn't completely lie so I said, "Well sort of real." Haha. (amusing myself) So then I asked; "Cal, have you ever been to Montana?" He said, "No." Me: "Svea, have you ever been to Montana?" Svea; "No." Cal: "Miles, have you ever been to Montana?" Miles; "Yes." Cal; "Did you love it?" Miles; "Yes." :) More Lunch conversation: Cal asked Svea, "Can you tell me about when you an...

Svea ate bran cereal and no raisins for breakfast. For lunch she ate chicken topped with avocado, ate whole wheat pita bread, a few bites of cucumbers, and no pears. First picture: We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids were engaged all morning. However, I took this picture shortly after arrival and Svea was still very much into her make-up kit she brought with her. Cal was trying to play with some toys and meanwhile Svea was trying to convince him that she needed to slather some make-up on his face. Ha!  Next two pictures: Eventually Svea abandoned the make-up bag and focused on Activities in the Play Room. She wanted Cal to play the Lady Bug game with her, but he was more interested in a building activity. So they played side-by-side and that worked fine. Second picture is basically more of the same; Svea was activity building with these and Cal would check in on her progress. Ha. Svea did both of these activities for a LONG time and the majority of the...

Svea chose not to eat breakfast: cream of wheat cereal and dried plums. For lunch she ate a large serving of chicken. No brown rice, broccoli, or pineapple. This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon. This was right after Miles got up from his nap and still wearing some Pajamas. (Daycare assigned in case anyone is wondering!! Ha.) This was a super cute moment when I took this picture. Svea was reading "scary ghost stories" (her words) to the boys. They were written, illustrated, and read by Svea Nelson. Miles had just requested another story and look at Svea's eye; "Are you sure you can handle another scary story!?!" :) One more picture from yesterday afternoon taken while the kids were decorating Easter egg Cookies. Svea started to eat about as many sprinkles and other toppings as she was putting on her cookie so I suggested she just eat her cookie! Ha. She was more than happy to comply with that suggestion! Next picture: The kids were using this ...

Svea ate no waffle and ate a large serving of mango/strawberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate ground turkey, whole wheat tortilla, ate sweet potatoes, and two servings of cherries. First picture: Svea was doing a Preschool Activity using the dry erase markers. On this particular page you had to circle the groups with the "smallest" amount of items. Svea was explaining it to Cal: " Circle the few." Haha. Nice job Svea; not sure he quite got that, but it was a good attempt. Later I reminded Cal he needed to put away a Preschool activity before moving on. Svea said, "I always put stuff away." And she does HERE! After a few seconds thinking about her statement she said, "Especially at Gary's." Ha. Next picture: This was really cute and sweet. Svea was singing into her microphone and Cal was her focus. "Merry Christmas Callahan, Merry Christmas Callahan, Merry Christmas Callahan...." She was using the most sweet and softest voice. So...

Svea ate bites of French toast casserole and ate strawberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate one bite of Whole 30 Chili with meat, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and lots of spices. She ate whole wheat dinner roll and picked the mangoes out of mango/pineapple mix. First picture: This is leftover from yesterday afternoon when Svea was doing some backward "stiff-body" flops. They like building something different to flop off and then it's like a whole NEW game.  Next picture: I took this shortly after Svea's arrival. She came with some "goldfish" and I told her she could bring them in, but she had to share with the boys. (If you look closely you can see one in front of Cal's left hand.) She wasn't dishing them out as fast as the boys wanted her to, but she had the bowl and she was in control. "If you want more goldfish, you're gonna have to wait." However, she really did share very generously.  Next picture: Cal got a ...
