Svea - 12/30/2021

Initially I wasn't sure if I'd do a Blog for Svea, but she came early enough and was actively involved with others so here's the Blog!! For Lunch she ate Ground beef, no whole wheat elbow noodles, ate her peas, and bites of applesauce. This isn't about Svea, but I think you'll like it:  Everyone  was super happy to see the Hansen kids back today. Atley and Nora immediately were jabbering and laughing and ready to play! When the kids were at the window waiting to wave bye to Daddy Ryan and Daddy Colin, Atley was in "Making Nora Laugh Mode!" Haha. She was banging her forehead on the window just so Nora would laugh. Goofy kid! I've seen that a  few  times!! :) First picture: This was taken moments after arrival and Nora was showing Svea a picture she'd made. I think she may have gifted it to Svea because she wrote "SveaNora" on it. Second picture: Svea was busy putting beads on the rods and Nora was busy explaining how she would be going to ...

Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and three servings of mandarin oranges for breakfast. For lunch she didn't try any Hearty Paleo Stew with meat, carrots, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, broccoli, and cauliflower. She ate saltines and no pineapple/mango.  This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when we were experimenting with the balloon on a string activity again. The balloon releases it's air and propels itself down the string. The kids were enjoying having their own balloons and trying to blow them up. Hudson (partially hidden), Avi, and Atley are all blowing up their balloons in the picture. I also blew up balloons for Svea and Cal. Next Picture; Here's the "Pirate Ship" that Avi and Atley built for them to play on. Avi, of course, was the self-appointed "Captain" and she appointed Atley as the "Back-up Captain." Avi interpreted that very literally! "If the enemy ship comes you  back up  the ship." Haha. ...

Svea ate bites of blueberry waffle and ate grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate a large serving of chicken, ate whole wheat tortilla, corn, and a bite of applesauce. First picture; I took this at breakfast and it was fun to listen to the kids! (Nora and Miles will be back on Thursday.) They were watching the pictures on the digital frame and basically reminiscing. There were pictures of me feeding Callahan with a bottle, first time Svea sat upright, a very young Atley, and a very young Avi. Lots of laughing, giggling, and talking about each picture. Again, this was lots of fun for me as well!  We had a visitor this morning as our furnace maintenance guy was here for the yearly checkup. Cal was fine with that - from a distance. Ha. Next picture; Atley is reading to Svea and Cal while they are waiting for Avilene to hide the eggs. Ha. I wonder how many times they've hidden those eggs!?! :) The two little ones were happy to see Atley - she was here 1 day in November - and it was ni...

Svea ate most of her French toast and ate dried plums for breakfast. For lunch she ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, peas, and 3 servings of mixed fruit; mangos and strawberries. Way to go Svea!  Just a reminder for everyone and also for any Blog readers who may not be aware of Christmas closure plans. Little Treasures will be closed tomorrow, Friday the 17th and reopen on Monday December 27th. So the next Blog will be that Monday; 27th. So Merry Christmas everyone and Louisiana here we come!! This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Svea apparently ran out of gas. She was in the chair beside me while I was doing Blogs and it got very quiet - which is always the first clue. Ha. I covered her legs with a doll blanket and she probably slept 1 - 1.5 hours. Second picture - Svea was working on this puzzle and Miles was at the gate saying, "Watch Vay Vay, watch Vay Vay...." Sure you can do that!! Next picture: Svea stretching across from the balance beam to ...

Svea ate toast and ate mangoes for breakfast. For lunch she ate no ground beef with marinara sauce on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, ate half of her cauliflower, and ate her fruit salad. I frequently mention how I find Svea's choice of wording so unique and cute. She was singing and of course Cal started singing too. Quite loudly. Svea said, "Help me Gary. Cal was singing and I don't get to hear my voice." Haha. Side note here: She is slowly, but surely starting to ask for my help instead of instantly screaming.  This first picture of Svea is left over from yesterday afternoon and she was proud of herself for doing this activity of "opposites." She did it by color mostly, but we still talked about some like; "young & old" "big & small," etc... Second picture: This was before Svea arrived, but you can see her influence all over this picture!! The boys carried the food toys to the bench and were having a meal just like they...

Svea ate blueberry bagel and ate several grapes for breakfast. She did not want to try any lunch: shrimp, brown rice, broccoli, and mixed berries.  Svea stayed busy all morning; most of the time doing activities in the Preschool Room. In the first picture she was working on a Gingerbread House (at least that's what I think it is) she brought from home. In the second picture she moved on to balancing cargo on the pirate ship. This is actually a pretty challenging balance activity. And a new one that I'll have to show to Avi because she likes those. Next picture: Svea plays this next game the same way Avi, Atley, and Nora always played it; from point-blank range!! Ha. The game has a voice that tells you if you're successful or not and you're supposed to throw the "bone" to the right dog. (The color lights up.) It says, "Throw the dog a bone." Following picture: I helped Svea get started with the puzzle for a few minutes and then she wanted to finish it...

Svea ate bran cereal and no raisins for breakfast. For lunch she ate two servings of chicken covered with two servings of avocado, ate whole wheat pita bread, ate cucumber, and bites of pears. This first picture is left over from Friday afternoon, but I could have easily taken a similar one this morning. Ha. And she said the same thing today as she was saying on Friday; "I see two Gary's." Silly girl. She has a good teacher with this as you know Avi is an expert. :) Next picture: We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and sure enough Svea went right for the food toys. How many months has she been doing this exact same thing!?! She loves to organize the food and she's always planning for an "event!" When she was done getting this food set up she said, "Cal, you have one minute until the Festival comes!!" :) So cute. Here are a couple pictures from the Preschool Room playing with and near Cal. Cal was sorting colors using the "pinc...

Svea said she doesn't like cream of wheat cereal so she chose to skip breakfast. For lunch she ate a big serving of chicken and that was it. No brown rice, broccoli, or pineapple.  Thought you might enjoy a quote from Avi and Nora during snack yesterday. They were talking about how much older they are than Svea. "When Svea is in Kindergarten we will be in 2nd grade." They went through several grades and then ended with this doozy!! Avi said, "When me and Nora are grown-up Svea will be a teenager." Ha. Maybe by the time you're "grown-up" you'll also learn how to say "Nora and I." Speaking of yesterday afternoon, Svea and Cal were in the cozy corner and I asked her what they were doing. (I already knew.) Svea said, "We're trying to be sneaky." Ha. At least she was being truthful! She was showing him the unicorn on her panties. Ha. First picture: Svea was reading her book - "Gingerbread Baby" - to the boys first t...

Svea wanted no waffle, but ate two large servings of strawberry/mango for breakfast. For lunch she ate two servings of ground turkey, bites of whole wheat tortillas, bites of sweet potatoes, and ate cherries. I was glad to see her eat that much meat!  I've mentioned it before, but I love how Svea expresses herself. We were doing books and initially she didn't want to sing. (Which was just fine!) She said, "I wanna suck; I don't wanna sing!" LOL! Then Miles started singing with me and well let's just say she forgot all about her thumb!!  Svea said, "Gary!! Cal said RUDE to Miles!" (Ha.) Cal denied that one; "No I didn't!" Svea; "Yes you did! I heard you!!" Cal was most likely correct; he probably acted rude; not saying rude. Ha.  This first picture is left over from yesterday afternoon when Nora was here. It was nice for Svea to have Nora all to herself and they had lots of fun at the Doll House. Nora examined it closely and ...

The boys like to mix their strawberries and French toast together and this morning Svea joined them! She ate two large servings of French toast and strawberries. For lunch she ate most of her serving of Whole 30 Chili with meat, peppers, tomatoes, tomato sauce, sweet potatoes, and spices. She ate whole wheat dinner roll and bites of mango/pineapple. I told Svea this morning that she had scratches on her forehead. She said, "Melvin scratched me." I asked, "Why do you think he scratched you?" She said, "I don't want to tell you." Haha. First picture: This was the first activity Svea chose in the Preschool Room. Doing some tracing with erasable markers. Next picture; Miles asked Svea to hook his tractor up to his trailer. I got this picture at the very end of her helping him and he's ready to take off. I always encourage them to ask their peers for help and Svea loves to be a helper. Following picture: Svea helping Miles again!! :) She was hanging her...

Svea ate whole wheat English muffin and ate a few grapes for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her pork roast, ate whole wheat toast, ate most of her beets, and a bite of applesauce. This week Svea has been quizzing me about "opposites." (And talking about rhyming words.) Today she asked if "Gone" and "Here" are opposites. Wow, I thought that was a pretty good question! Here's a random statement from Svea this morning; "I don't want to be in School. I want to be in Ballet." Oh really? She continued, "Mama said only one pick, so I pick Ballet." :) First picture: Svea waiting for me to read some books and we've been doing lots of Christmas books. She's holding one of her favorites: "The Twelve Days of Christmas." She sings most of the song with me and finishes most of the verses. Today she was occasionally singing some silly words and here are a couple examples. Third day of Christmas is "Three French Hen...

Svea ate bites of corn chex cereal and bites peaches for breakfast. For lunch she ate two servings of ground beef topped with avocado, ate toasted whole wheat sandwich thin, ate tomatoes, and two servings of mandarin oranges.  First thing this morning Svea made me laugh hard!! She was sucking her thumb and fiddling with her panties like she always does. She said, "Somebody didn't know I already got panties." Haha. So I checked and sure enough she had on 2 pairs of panties. So of course I asked, "Who put your panties on you this morning?" She pointed at herself and said, "I did." Which made her statement even funnier. :) First picture - Svea had the boys examining her painted fingernails and painted toenails. As you can see they were interested! In the second picture Svea had moved some barn animals in the barn and was closing the door. She said, "I need to close these because a storm is coming."  Next picture; I asked Lauralea to take this pi...
